I like the name [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], but with our last name her initials would be BM. That’s poop. I don’t want to name my daughter poop. [name_m]How[/name_m] important are initials?? Help!
The initials BM are fine. ? Honestly, no one would bat an eyelid. I don’t think this is an issue at all. Maybe if the initials were BUM, but two random letters of the alphabet that don’t signify anything negative (to me at any rate - I totally don’t get your association!) are 100% fair game.

I would say not a problem, but honestly I work in healthcare and thats what I think of. If it makes you feel better - initials are rarely used anyway.
Wouldn’t be a problem to me. I’ve known several people with the initials BM and never thought much of it.
If it ever bothered her she could just include her middle initial (which you have to do on most important document you initial anyways).
I would have never associated her initials with poop. I don’t think anyone would notice/care. Lots of people have those initials and [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] is such a pretty name!

I agree that only healthcare people would notice. My mom’s an OT, so I still am not terribly keen on the initials, but I think it doesn’t matter to a great deal of people. I wouldn’t use [name_u]BO[/name_u] or BJ, either, though, for what it’s worth. Most initials don’t bug me, but those three do enough that I wouldn’t use them. It’s probably just me, though. 
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u] is beautiful, and I doubt she’d have any issues with it. I would encourage you to go for it, personally.
I don’t think it’s a problem at all. The vast majority of people would never make that link.
Personally, I wouldn’t quite use it. I doubt people would think anything of it if you did, though.
BM are very common initials ([name_f]Bette[/name_f] Midler, [name_m]Bob[/name_m] [name_u]Marley[/name_u], etc.) I don’t think anyone will notice this connection unless they’re looking for it.
