I’m interested in thoughts on the name [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Abner[/name]. Names means God’s Gift and Father of [name]Light[/name] respectively. I like the meaning of both names and [name]Theo[/name] is a cute nickname. Daughter’s name is [name]Lucinda[/name] (also meaning light).
We also like [name]Phineas[/name] but our last name begins with an “F” and it sounds too alliterative.
Open to other suggestions, too. Looking for something semi-classic, not too too popular, and something with a decent nickname.
I have noticed that [name]Theodore[/name] is getting extremely popular, well on Nameberry anyways, not sure about anywhere else. While I like the name I just always think of [name]Theodore[/name] from [name]Alvin[/name] and the Chipmunks, however, it is still a very nice name.
Other suggestions:
[name]Victor[/name] nn [name]Vic[/name]
[name]Harvey[/name]
[name]Leopold[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name] nn [name]Nathan[/name] or [name]Nate[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
I absolutely love [name]Theodore[/name] nn [name]Theo[/name]. It is getting popular here, but for good reason. Right now, I think we are outliers in our love for [name]Theo[/name], but I get the feeling that sometimes NameBerry tends to be something of a trend predictor.
The names I see thrown around by [name]Theo[/name] lovers are [name]Julian[/name] and [name]August[/name] and [name]Henry[/name]. [name]Julian[/name] is especially wonderful. Your pick [name]Phineas[/name], however, is quite unusual. [name]How[/name] about [name]Simeon[/name], [name]Sidney[/name], [name]Rafe[/name], or [name]Bayard[/name]? When I put [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Phineas[/name] into nymbler.com, it gave me the randomest collection of names. Most of them are really neat and unusual, but I didn’t post them here because they don’t have much mainstream appeal. But I would suggest trying it and seeing what you find.
I agree [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Abner[/name] is great and it is lovely with [name]Lucinda[/name] too! Also agree that while it is popular on nameberry, it’s not really popular in the general population.
