Hi everyone, can I get some feedback on names please! We have been struggling so much with boy names and only have a few weeks to go now.
Names on list are:
Samson
Clemens
Dylan
Finley
Edmund/Edwin
Silas
Clarence
Hubby like the first two names the most and while I do like them, I worry that they sound bad or awkward with our surname Henderson? Our middle name choice is either Carwyn or one of the other names in the above list that we don’t choose as a first name.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite from your list is definitely [name_m]Silas[/name_m]! I think that [name_m]Silas[/name_m] or [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] probably flow beat with [name_m]Henderson[/name_m], but I do think [name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_m]Henderson[/name_m] works okay.
[name_u]Clarence[/name_u] - This is a family name of mine and I LOVE it. It’s classic but underused (out of the top 1000 names in the USA if that’s where you’re from). I’m not crazy about it with the middle [name_m]Carwyn[/name_m] though.
Edmund/Edwin - Yes to both! The same feeling as [name_u]Clarence[/name_u], underused classics.
[name_m]Samson[/name_m] - I love the biblical story but if you don’t, be prepared for people to connect it.
[name_m]Clemens[/name_m] - A twist on [name_m]Clement[/name_m] that I think is fresh!
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] - I like this one, but I feel like it’s becoming more popular.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] - Climbing the charts too fast for my liking.
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u] - Wayyy overused as a first. Maybe as a middle?
The Best:
Edmund/ [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_u]Clarence[/name_u]
[name_m]Samson[/name_m] reminds me too much of [name_m]Son[/name_m] of [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. [name_m]Clemens[/name_m] is a bit too surname-y with your last name.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Henderson[/name_m] just sounds great. Second and third would be [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] and [name_u]Clarence[/name_u] respectively. Most of the other ones i thought didn’t go well with the surname.
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]: I feel pretty neutral about this one, if i were ranking them i’d have this in fourth place.
[name_m]Samson[/name_m]: I think of [name_m]Samson[/name_m] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], i don’t think [name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_m]Henderson[/name_m] goes well together because of the two –son endings.
Edmund/Edwin: Edmund/Edwin [name_m]Henderson[/name_m] sounds too similar to me also.
[name_m]Clemens[/name_m]: I don’t like [name_m]Clemens[/name_m] [name_m]Henderson[/name_m] together either. I’m not really a fan of the name [name_m]Clemens[/name_m].
I should have also mentioned that our daughter’s name is [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is a bit much?
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Henderson[/name_m] is so handsome! I love it with [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] actually. I like others on your list but agree that they don’t go as well with your last name. What about just [name_u]Sam[/name_u]?
[name_m]Samson[/name_m] and [name_m]Clemens[/name_m] are adorable!!! But they’re a bit awkward with the last name… not a rule breaker, as you won’t be calling him his full name all the name, but something to consider.
What about [name_m]Samwell[/name_m] [name_m]Carwyn[/name_m]? I think [name_m]Samwell[/name_m] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] are cute!
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] are also nice together.
I think that [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] & [name_m]Silas[/name_m] work okay together because they only share the beginning S. But I could see wanting different initials, as well. Then I’d probably choose either [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] or [name_u]Finley[/name_u] from your list.
Also consider, would Edmund/Edwin go by [name_u]Eddie[/name_u]? That would be pretty close to [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] as well.
