Input on "Victor"

My husband is absolutely in love with the name, and I’m coming around but need some more convincing. What are your impressions and thoughts on the name? Does it fit well with siblings [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or is it way too out of place with them?

Also, if you’d like, vote on a middle. (Last name is one syllable)

I know someone who is expecting her first child in a few weeks and for months they’ve been telling everyone his name will be [name_m]Victor[/name_m].

When I first heard this, I was quite surprised, moreso because it’s a name you don’t hear so much anymore, but actually, I find that quite refreshing.
I think it’s a perfectly fine name. It’s a real, legit, well-recognised name that people can easily say and spell. I don’t think you can go wrong.

I think it goes fine with [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you plan to call him a nn…possibly [name_u]Vic[/name_u]? If so [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Annie[/name_f] and [name_u]Vic[/name_u] have a nice flow [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

Of your choices I like [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] best.

Also, just throwing it out there, if you’re not totally sold, what about [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] nn [name_u]Vinny[/name_u]? [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_f]Annie[/name_f] and [name_u]Vinny[/name_u]? [name_m]Just[/name_m] another similar sounding alternative to confuse you more haha. Good luck!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] love love [name_m]Victor[/name_m]. It’s classic and masculine and I think it’s due a comeback. I also think it goes well with your other children’s names. I like most of your 3 syllable mn choices although it may depend on the sound of your surname xx

I like it, but I would love [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]!

I love [name_m]Victor[/name_m], it is strong and handsome, but it also has, for me, a mysterious and artsy air!
It goes well with [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f].

I like [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Andersen[/name_m] the best.

I’ve got [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] on my shirt list, nn [name_u]Van[/name_u]. Something to think about

One of my close friends in high school was [name_m]Victor[/name_m]. His dad was [name_m]Victor[/name_m] too. My friend [name_m]Victor[/name_m] has two children, a boy & a girl. Their names are [name_m]Victor[/name_m] & [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. Seriously.

[name_m]Victor[/name_m] doesn’t fit with your kids name. I’m not a fan–it strikes me as a creepy old man name. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f] are fresh and sweet. I’d add [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_u]Sam[/name_u], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] ([name_u]Freddie[/name_u]), [name_m]Liam[/name_m], or [name_m]Eli[/name_m].

I really like [name_m]Victor[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is cute! I think it does well with [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f].

My oldest son(3) is named [name_m]Victor[/name_m]! We picked it because it works in so many languages, is well known but also unusual, and felt like it could belong to lots of different types of men - bookish, sporty, etc. I’d love to see more little Victors out in the world!

I just adore [name_m]Victor[/name_m]. We almost named our son [name_m]Victor[/name_m] and we keep it firmly on our list if we ever have another one - also, we need a name that works in both [name_m]French[/name_m], English, Romanian and Swedish, and [name_m]Victor[/name_m] fits the bill perfectly ; as dregina said, it is one of those names that works almost universally ! I really like it with your other kids’ names, and you have great middle name suggestions - esp. [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Lyons[/name_m] and [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m].
