I think offsetting [name_f]Jane[/name_f] with a first name that’s still classic and sweet but has a little more spunk to it might sound nice. I love the name [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], it’s a shame your husband doesn’t like it! A few suggestions:
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] – [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is a sweet and pretty name, but it definitely doesn’t feel plain: it’s never been in the top 600 and has a lively sound. Also, [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] sound like a perfect sibling set if your husband ever comes around to [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] – the ‘x’ ending on this name makes the name seem really spunky, and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a really attractive sounding combination. I like the wealth of nickname options here: [name_f]Bea[/name_f], BB, [name_f]Trix[/name_f], etc.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] – I really like this combo. It might actually be in my signature, I’d have to go check [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] isn’t in the top 1,000, and I think it’s an interesting choice, but it’s also fairly recognizable in terms of pronunciation and it has a timeless sound.
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] – I think [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] sounds so perfect with the middle name [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Both have a sweet, timeless sound, but [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is a bit more spunky, especially since you have the option of the nickname “[name_f]Cece[/name_f].” [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is also not even in the top 1,000, so it’s an interesting and original choice.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] – [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is another name that’s recognizable but also not in the top 1,000 –*it’s unlikely anyone will consider it boring. I like the nickname [name_f]Coco[/name_f] or [name_f]Cora[/name_f] to make the name a little less formal on a little girl.
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] – [name_f]Iris[/name_f] has such a unique sound, with the ‘s’ ending, and the origin is fascinating: [name_f]Iris[/name_f] was the goddess of the rainbow in Ancient Greece, and on the purple iris flower, the three petals represent faith, wisdom, and valor.
Good luck!
