My kids inspired me to ask this!
My 6 yo daughter came up to me and says ‘I love the name Yami! It’s cute!’
I had no idea where she got this name from until the next day while watching tele with them. turns out its the name of a character from the Anime YuGiOh! Duel Monsters. I pointed this out to my kids, to have my 4yo son reply ‘I want a daughter called [name]Mai[/name]’ (pron. ‘my’)
So heres the male characters- what do you think of these names?

I dont think I’d use any of the yugioh ones!

[name]Zack[/name] and [name]Codie[/name] are ok… the rest are NMS…

And most kids suggest silly names! My older brother wanted to name my sister piga hoga and me boulder head! Im glad she didnt listen!

But I do have a family friend whose son asked them to name the baby [name]Emily[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] after the little girl in the [name]Clifford[/name] books… so they did!

It’s actually [name]Cody[/name] for Suite Life on Deck, and [name]Phineas[/name] for [name]Phineas[/name] and Ferb.

I don’t think I could ever use any of the names from YuGiOh. Too out there for me. The most “normal” is [name]Duke[/name], but that’s more of a dog name [name]IMO[/name].

I like [name]Cody[/name] and [name]Zack[/name]. I have a cousin named [name]Zack[/name] (full name [name]Isaac[/name]). Also like [name]Ash[/name] as a nn for [name]Ashton[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Brock[/name] or [name]Woody[/name]. [name]Phineas[/name] is ok, Ferb just sounds funny to me.

I don’t have kids yet but my sister actually named me ([name]Jennifer[/name]). She was 8 so less likely to come up with an object or something. [name]Even[/name] though I don’t like my name’s popularity, I think she did well! Haha. I’ve heard of kids wanting to name their new sibling something like Pillow or Dinosaur, lol.

My husbands name is [name]Cody[/name] so I’m partial. I actually like Kaiba a little. And I love [name]Ash[/name].

I don’t have kids, but the other day a 7 year old at the daycare told me she wanted to name her son [name]Vincent[/name].

Yami is “darkness” in Japanese; I suspect it’s not a name outside of anime.

I like [name]Ash[/name] and [name]Phineas[/name]. I’m actually considering both for my list. I don’t have kids of my own, but I know of kids who have suggested [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Max[/name], and [name]Olivia[/name] because of the TV shows.
