I came across a new (but very pretty [name_f]IMO[/name_f]) name today
[name_f]Maddalena[/name_f]
A very sweet woman in her late 90s (!). I think it is a great alternative to the very popular [name_f]Madelynn[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] etc. and I added it to my girls list right away.
I have never heard of that before but I actually like it better than [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Madelynn[/name_f]. [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] is very cute!
I like it! [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are my favorite mn suggestions so far. I would add:
[name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f]! I had her on my list as a MN with [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] “[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f]” awhile back. I know the beginning bothers some people so [name_f]Madelina[/name_f] is always another option.
Madalena is the Portuguese language version of the latin name [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]. I have never encountered it spelled with two D’s, although after a quick search apparently that is an Italian variant. Personally I think Madalena looks cleaner than [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f], but that may just be because I am more familiar with the Portuguese version.
I like it. However, I prefer [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]. I’m not keen on the NN [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] and wouldn’t want her to be called “Mad” either. I think the NNs [name_f]Mag[/name_f] or [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] are much better.
I think that’s the Italian variant of [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] (not sure), really pretty imo
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestions of [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_u]Rae[/name_u] @wittyusername13 but I may have a bias ^^
I’m familiar with it thanks to the evil queen character from the show Galavant (though I think she’s Madalena with one D.)
I think it’s a smoother, chic-er name than [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]. [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f]/Madalena is probably my favorite of the [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] family of names, though I also like nickname form [name_f]Malena[/name_f].
