With much love and years of anticipation, we welcomed [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] into our lives on [name_u]November[/name_u] 15th, 2013
My husband and I both loved the name [name_m]Clyde[/name_m], but we knew it was meant to be when we started examining the name’s origins. First, we loved the idea of having a name with some river symbolism in it based on something my husband had written to me before we were ever married…and the name [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] comes from the [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] in [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] (where one side of my mom’s family is from). Also, part of the legend or lore around the river is that it is a powerful river that is heard and felt before it is ever seen. After years of struggling with infertility, this name paid homage to our journey without being too cliche. We also loved the the idea that the name can’t be shortened, did not end with an EN, AN, IN, or ON (as most boys names do right now), had a great old school hipster vibe, and we don’t think it will be used as a girls name anytime soon.
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a family name on both sides.

We loved the name for the same reasons above, and both [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] are family names for us as well. Absolutely perfect. Its sweet to know there is another [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] in the world. Maybe they will connect someday.
