Inventive & original nickname help please!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Nameberries

I believe I’ve come to the right place for some much needed nickname help! My daughter is a year old and named [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. We love the name as it has personal connections for us, is classic & literary but will also hopefully be suitable as a teen and adult. Although it is very popular, we do not mind. Her father and I have very rare names and went the opposite way I guess. Our problem is we just can’t find a nickname that feels right. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is a mouthful so would love a short cute nickname.

We’ve tried:
[name_f]Amy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ammie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]
[name_m]Mills[/name_m]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]
Milsie
[name_f]Lia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Lili[/name_f]
[name_u]Mel[/name_u]
Melie
None fit :(. Can anyone think of a different nickname. I’m happy to go out of the box and on a stretch! I like the sound of [name_f]Amy[/name_f] the most but [name_f]Amy[/name_f] is a name in its own right. Defeats the purpose of a nickname in my mind.
Any help will be really appreciated! Be as creative as you like!
Thank you so much X

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] Sedley, a main character in Vanity Fair, is called [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]. Similar to [name_f]Amy[/name_f], but maybe more nickname-ish?

When I was a youngster my favorite movie ever was The [name_f]Princess[/name_f] Diaries, with [name_f]Anne[/name_f] Hathaway as [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. To this day I loved that [name_f]Mia[/name_f]'s full name was [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. So for me, [name_f]Mia[/name_f] gets my vote.

What about:
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]
[name_f]Ammie[/name_f]

[name_f]Amy[/name_f] looks like it could come from [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but with the long AY at the beginning of [name_f]Amy[/name_f] versus UH at the beginning of [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] it throws me off.

I went to college with a girl name [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], no nickname and she rocked it.

Maybe [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], or [name_f]Elle[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nicknames:
[name_f]Malia[/name_f]
[name_f]Melia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mella[/name_f]
[name_u]Allie[/name_u]
[name_f]Ammy[/name_f]/[name_f]Emmy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Mamie[/name_f]
[name_u]Elia[/name_u]/[name_f]Alia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ama[/name_f]
[name_u]Amal[/name_u]

I like [name_u]Elia[/name_u], [name_m]Liam[/name_m] (kinda out there but combines the M at the beginning with the [name_f]Lia[/name_f] at the end), Ames, and [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. With time you may also find a nickname totally unrelated to the name [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] that you will love. She can always use [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] for when she’s older but for now you can call her cute nns like Peanut or [name_f]Princess[/name_f] too.

[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Melia[/name_f]
[name_m]Emil[/name_m]
[name_u]Allie[/name_u]

I am interested, op, in why you are set on coming up with a nickname in this fashion. To me, nicknames are almost by definition organic in their origin, whether or not they derive from the person’s actual name. Call her whatever comes out of your mouth, assuming it’s not hurtful or offensive. When she’s older, she and her friends will take over this task.
