I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f]! And [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] sounds great. (Plus, I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] Pender is great!) I wouldn’t be too concerned with [name_f]ISIS[/name_f]/ISIL. I do think of it with [name_f]Isis[/name_f], obviously, but not [name_f]Iris[/name_f]? I just think of the beautiful flower.
I also think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] would be beautiful, but [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is gorgeous, too.
Thank you so much!
I love [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], it is absolutely beautiful!! In my opinion, i don’t like the name [name_f]Iris[/name_f], it kinda does remind me of [name_f]Isis[/name_f] and for some reason [name_f]Iris[/name_f] just sounds weird to say. But if you like it, use it!
I voted for [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but out of interest, how are you pronouncing [name_f]Irene[/name_f]? Both ways sound lovely with your surname, but if you’re worried about how “fun” the names are, I think the “eye-reen-ee” pronunciation would definitely be as “fun” as [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
I had envisioned calling her [name_f]Irene[/name_f] (silent e) because I think that would be the default way people would pronounce it and using the also legitimate I-reen-ee pronunciation as a kind of nickname. I do like it!
I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] as a first name, but I’m not sure I like the repeated “eyre” sounds in [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] However, I do prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] to [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] nn “eye-reen-ee” sounds like a lovely idea! It’s a beautiful combo. I also agree with @lawsonhaley that [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] might be a little too much ‘eye’ sound, so I think you should go for the [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] combo.
I love the nickname Rini ([name_f]Ree[/name_f]-nee) for [name_f]Irene[/name_f], but [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is adorable too. Sorry that’s not so helpful, but you’ve got two great choices!
I voted for [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] because I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I think of the flowers and feel a very regal energy with them and the name. The name also feels fun and sweet to me. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Margret[/name_f] would be lovely. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] perhaps as another option, with same meaning to [name_f]Margret[/name_f], but a bit more flow?
I prefer [name_f]Irene[/name_f], and particularly if you pronounce it with 3 syllables.
My personal preference is [name_f]Iris[/name_f] way over the traditional American pronunciation of [name_f]Irene[/name_f] (eye-REEN). W/three syllables (eye-REEN-ee) [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is nicer, but I still like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] more. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] (using the three-syllable pronunciation) is very sweet, especially the meaning (rainbow peace). [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is just not one of my preferences as it has the hard g sound in it & I don’t like most names that contain that sound. But I think no matter what you choose your little girl will have a lovely name. Good luck!
I voted for [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] Pender just because I love the initials!
