Iris Ailsa Marie? + others

I think I’ve experienced rather too much name in the past few days.

[name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is my top girl combo (today). [name]Marie[/name] would be pronounced MAH-rie, not mar-EE. Are two middles too much nowadays - should it just be [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name]?
The only other combo I love is [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Wren[/name].

As for boys, I’m truly stumped. The only name I really like is [name]Oliver[/name], but it’s #1 here and my stepsister has just had a son called [name]Oliver[/name]. I love the nn [name]Roe[/name], too, but I’m not sure about a full name. [name]Rowan[/name]'s nice, but a bit themey with my girls names. Not a huge fan of [name]Roland[/name]/[name]Ronan[/name]. And no clue about middles.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa help please!!

I think two middle names is a bit much, especially with using [name]Ailsa[/name] thrown in there. I like all of those names on their own, but together they aren’t flowing for me. I really like [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Wren[/name]!! I agree–love [name]Oliver[/name], sucks that it’s already taken.

I think [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is lovely! Can I suggest the spelling of [name]Mari[/name] instead of [name]Marie[/name] for pronunciation assistance? Or is there a family tie with the [name]Marie[/name] spelling?
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] [name]Mari[/name] is STUNNING in my opinion, and I am normally not a fan of two middle names at all. I don’t think they’re ‘too much’ in this day and age, but usually the style (at least that seem to be posted on the board) with two middle names are ‘too much’ in general. [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] [name]Mari/name is amazing, though!

For boys, how about [name]Rohan[/name], [name]Orlando[/name] or [name]Oscar[/name]?

Good luck!

Thanks for your comments, didn’t think anybody would reply so quickly!
I still love [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name]. I’m not sure if I need a second middle, it’s just that I have two middle names and for some reason I feel like I should pass it on. I don’t know what I’d do if I had a boy, though, because I think two middles for boys is really pretentious. Agh!

Anyway, possibilities -

[name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] ([name]Mari[/name]/e)
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Tess[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] [name]Finch[/name]

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Firth[/name] (oh I just love it, it isn’t fair!)
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Edward[/name]/ [name]Rohan[/name] [name]Edward[/name] (I like the suggestion of [name]Rohan[/name] a lot, but I can’t help but think of Middle [name]Earth[/name] and things whenever I write it down!)

I like [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] a lot. I might have to get down to the library and get some naming inspiration
Thanks so much, everyone! Keep going!

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Firth[/name] is really, really nice!
I’ve never read The [name]Lord[/name] of the Rings so I’m not really familiar with its connection there, but I think it works well with [name]Edward[/name].
What about [name]Owen[/name]? [name]Oliver[/name] + [name]Rowan[/name], essentially. I do understand if it’s a close-but-no-cigar type situation.
[name]Owen[/name] [name]Fyfe[/name]?

Other ones that came to mind as kind of the same style as either [name]Rowan[/name] or [name]Oliver[/name] (or both):
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Graham[/name]
[name]Julian[/name]
[name]Riordan[/name]
[name]Evander[/name]
[name]Fabian[/name]
[name]Callum[/name]
[name]Lennox[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name]
[name]Cian[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Tess[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] (but am not liking [name]Finch[/name], sorry), and [name]Hazel[/name] is lovely! [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Tess[/name] & [name]Iris[/name] are gorgeous together.

I personally love the idea of two middles. As you can tell by my signature, as long as it flows well and isn’t something like [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] — way too much. [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is alright, all the names are two syllables so it doesn’t sound right to me, it’s very choppy. [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] would work, something with one syllable or three. I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Iris[/name] btw it’s my favorite girl name, ever! [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Wren[/name] is beautiful it flows perfectly too.

What about [name]Roman[/name] ‘[name]Roe[/name]’??

[name]Tess[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Tess[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] Esmee, [name]Tess[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] [name]Adele[/name] ?

What about [name]Roman[/name] ‘[name]Roe[/name]’?? I love [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Firth[/name] btw.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]IRIS[/name] [name]AILSA[/name] [name]MAEVE[/name].

Okay. [name]Ah[/name], you’re all so great. Thank you!

1 [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] or [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name] [name]May[/name]?
2 [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Wren[/name]
3 [name]Tess[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] (you’re both right about [name]Finch[/name] - not sure what was going on there, ha) [name]Tess[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] [name]Alice[/name] or [name]Tess[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] [name]Fiene[/name]? I think I might like Tess Rosamund as it is.

I’ve been looking around for boys names. I think my favourite will always be [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Firth[/name] :frowning: I like [name]Roman[/name], but I’m not sure if it’s too, well, [name]Roman[/name]? Might just stick with [name]Rowan[/name] ([name]Roe[/name]) - a bit of theme isn’t always a bad thing, eh?
