Iris or Eloise?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! We’re starting to narrow things down and I was hoping to get some general impressions of two names: [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] sounds a bit more fun but also maybe trendier? Interested to hear which you would choose.

I adore the beautiful, spunky [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].

I think they are both gorgeous, but [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is a special favorite!

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] gets my vote. I love how sweet but strong it sounds.

I would choose [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I am not a fan of [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is a soft, elegant, classy name and I tend to like those much more than spunky or fun names. Also, I cannot get the children’s book/movie character out of my head when I hear it and I found her kind of bratty.

I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] - simply stunning, soft & elegant

I love both, but [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is what I would choose. And she would have a lovely purple bedroom!

I would go with [name_f]Iris[/name_f]! I’m a big fan of nature names, and I love that it means “rainbow”.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] both, but [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] pips it for me. I love a storybook hero/heroine name!

[name_u]Love[/name_u], [name_u]Love[/name_u], [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] (my favourite [name_f]Iris[/name_f] combination is [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f]), [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] just doesn’t do it for me I’m afraid.

I think that you’d be happier with [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] in the long run. It’s easier for a girl to wear than [name_f]Iris[/name_f].

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is actually trendier than [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] right now because it’s a name that had disappeared entirely for many decades from the charts, while [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] shares similarities with classic names that have never gone out of style like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and all the other “[name_f]El[/name_f]” names.

[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: When choosing between a word name and a “name” name that you like equally - I advise going with the “name” name. A person with a word name will constantly find it in odd places and contexts.

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]!

I think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] has the vintage charm that [name_f]Iris[/name_f] lacks. I much prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].

I like both. However, I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] over [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] slightly. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the meaning, connection to mythology, and the flower. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is cute but not as special in my eyes.

I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f], for it’s connection to mythology (Greek [name_f]Goddess[/name_f] of the [name_f]Rainbow[/name_f] and connector of heaven and earth) and strong sound. I feel it’s both classic and in style. I also love the combo [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].

I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]

[name_f]Iris[/name_f]!..

I like both quite a bit. I can see them both aging well. I can see them both on girls/women of various personalities.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] go with whichever draws you to it more than the other.

I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f], I’ve never liked the ‘wheeze’ sound in [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]/[name_f]Louise[/name_f], and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is short and simple, but beautiful with great connections to the flower, colour, and the eye. And personally I love the character association with [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]West[/name_u] in ‘The [name_m]Flash[/name_m]’, she definitely helps add some feistiness and energy to [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
