Please in your responses don’t type out the full names, I’d rather this post not be too googlable for privacy.
But anyway I’m wondering about E1sie [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]? Surname is looong, sounds like Lamington-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u]. So I’m worried that with two middles the name is a bit much. Our other child is R0b1n J0@anne, and I like the flow of that WAY better.
But [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] alone doesn’t have a nature name which I’d really like in there, and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] alone sounds more tongue-twistery, the similarity to E1sie in sounds and syllables is too much?
There are other middles I’ve considered - [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], [name_f]Anthea[/name_f], [name_f]Talia[/name_f] Gr@ce, [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] etc. But lately none of them make me feel excited. It might just be how much pregnancy sucks, with the sickness and exhaustion, but I’ve almost even hated names altogether recently! Suddently I feel a bit excited about a name though… even though it’s clunky, the goddess of rainbows combined with an image of strength like [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_m]Bader[/name_m] Ginsburg seems pretty cool?
It’s a bit of a tongue-twinster with your long surname, but not so much that it’s a dealbreaker. If you love it, go for it!
You like the sound of [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and want a nature middle name… What about [name_u]Rue[/name_u]? It’s a type of plant with little yellow flowers. It’s also known as the herb of grace!

I don’t think E1sie !ris [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] has a terrible flow, though something like E1sie [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] sounds better to me. The “i”s and “s”s in E1sie !ris, also “r”s in !ris and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] clash a bit tbh.
Not too much at all, and not a terrible flow
I don’t think it’s too much at all! I think it’s really seeet, and it doesn’t flow badly at all. As a bonus, you get two incredible namesakes in her middle names
I don’t think that the names themselves are too much, but I think the r tongue twister wouldn’t be as noticeable if you flipped the two around: Els1e [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
Honestly completely understand pregnancy is exhausting and tough we women go through so much! Wishing you a peaceful, healthy pregnancy & birth. When are you due?
Personally I don’t think the name is too much mainly because all three names are very short so it doesn’t feel long or look visually long. I also don’t think E1sie Ir1s [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is a tongue twister either I think it’s sweet and works with R0b1n J0anne. However my daughter (due in [name_u]February[/name_u]) is going to have a very long name with her hyphenated surname being two unusual names that are culturally different. I think go for the name you love!
I don’t think these two middles are too much. It’s a long name with the surname but the full name probably won’t be used often.
I also agree with @seawillow:
I think iris [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is cool as a double middle. But if you don’t like the flow as much, maybe a shorter nature word like [name_f]Raine[/name_f] / [name_u]Rain[/name_u]
I like E1sie [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] on its own! It may not have the nature aspect but it’s so sweet and goes so well with her older sister’s name. I also think two middles are a bit too much with a long hyphenated last name.
