So, my fiance has decided that, because we’ve given our daughter [name]Martha[/name] an Irish nickname ([name]Maisie[/name], short for [name]Mairead[/name], Irish form of [name]Margaret[/name]), he wants our next baby to have an Irish name. We’ve settled on [name]Bobby[/name] [name]Patrick[/name] for a boy, but again, stuck for girls. We live in the UK, so pronunciation isn’t a problem, as a lot of people seem used to these names. We just don’t know of many that suit with [name]Martha[/name]! Please no names starting with M though
hmmm…maybe
[name]Brigid[/name]
[name]Aileen[/name]
[name]Clare[/name]
[name]Colleen[/name]
[name]Darcy[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Fianna[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Mona[/name]
[name]Orla[/name]
I think these work better with [name]Martha[/name] than a [name]Saoirse[/name] or a [name]Niamh[/name] would.
I would like for another traditional English name that lends itself to an Irish nn.
[name]Caroline[/name] with nn [name]Cara[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] with nn [name]Nora[/name]
