Irish middle name with German/Polish last name

Ok. Here is our name if baby is a boy: [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]. I want to use [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] as the middle name because it is a family name, but my question is: would it be strange to pair such an Irish name with our last name, which begins with Kow and ends in ski? Very polish sounding! Girl name: [name_f]Ivey[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. Thoughts on that combination? Thanks! My maiden name is very simple, so I feel thrown off by my married name and feel it is especially important for it to jive with a boys’ name…

[name_u]Douglas[/name_u] is such an established name crossing many cultures that it would be fine. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] (last name) is very handsome!

It’s a family name. Of course you can use it.

I like [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u].

As for [name_f]Ivey[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u], I wouldn’t go with [name_f]Ivey[/name_f] if your last name ends with -ski. But that’s just me.
