I really like the name [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] but was wondering about the pronounciation issues. Would people in [name_f]England[/name_f] forever be messing it up or are we close enough to [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] for it to not be a problem? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it could hold her back for future job applications if the person reading it doesnt know how its said? Thats my main worry.
I’ve met a few Saoirses and quite a number of Aoifes and Niamhs in [name_f]England[/name_f]. They do get mispronounced sometime but I don’t think they’re seen as outlandish or odd -i think a lot of people would know they’re Irish
