Is Irish too out there? For a girl with red hair and pale skin, is it too nicknamey (especially since we are not irish). Thoughts?

Personally I’m not a fan. To an Irish person this would be like calling your child American or Canadian.

Naming a child after a place is one thing, naming your child an ethnicity is another.

I’d say this is a no.

Irish isn’t my favorite, sorry. I have heard the name [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] before, which I thought was on the edge of being “too out there”, but workable.

Irish sounds like you’re literally describing yourself to be of Irish origin or like you’re whispering the name [name_f]Iris[/name_f].

Place names are one thing, ethnicities are another.

I think something like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] or [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] would be nicer, or [name_f]Iris[/name_f].

Definitely not Irish.

[name_f]Ireland[/name_f], if you must. I think you should go back to the drawing board.

Second this entirely.

Sorry, but this is just dumb.
