[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, I’m back again with a similar question. Please let me know your thoughts on how similar “Adam” and “Aiden” seem to you as I cannot choose boy names to save my life.
For brothers? Too similar. For father-son? Similar, but may work. Anybody else? It’s fine.
I don’t think they’re too similar, personally! The only sound they share, at least in my accent, is the letter D. (a-dum vs. ay-din).
For brothers, that’s a bit similar. In general, they’re not too similar.
For brothers it’s a little on the matchy-matchy side. For DH/DS I see no problem at all. For other family such as cousins unless you’re really close who cares. For random strangers on the street I wouldn’t give it a second thought.
Personal Pronounciation Guide (important to answer):
[name_m]Adam[/name_m] - Ad-dum
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] - Ay-den
For brothers, I’d find it a bit matchy but not completely undoable.
For cousins, father and son, children of friends etc-totally fine
Although they are alliterative I don’t think they sounds similar. I think they could absolutely work in the same family.
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] can also be spelled a variety of way as well. [name_u]Ayden[/name_u], Aeden, [name_u]Aden[/name_u]
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] has a lot of names that are similar if your looking for an alternative
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u]
[name_u]Alden[/name_u]
[name_u]Jayden[/name_u]
[name_u]Brayden[/name_u] / [name_m]Braedon[/name_m]
[name_m]Rayden[/name_m] / [name_u]Raiden[/name_u]
Kayden/ [name_m]Caiden[/name_m]
I think they’re too similar for brothers but not for father/son or for cousins.
