Is Addiena usable?

In an [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking country. It’s pronounced ah-thee-eh-nah and means beautiful. I’ll likely use it as a middle name anyway, but just wondering what you think of it as a first name?

It’s okay I guess.

I would keep it as a middle name because it would be difficult for everyday life. I worry people will always assume it’s ah-dee-en-nah. I also fear when people hear “a-thee-eh-nah” they would assume it’s spelled Athienna or she’s saying “Asienna” with a lisp.

The pronunciation isn’t intuitive, but it’s usable if you love it!

If you love it, I guess so. I would pronounce it [name_m]Add[/name_m]-ee-en-a though. Maybe spell it Athiena? Or just go with [name_f]Athena[/name_f]?

Middle names might be:
Addiena [name_f]May[/name_f]
Addiena [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
Addiena [name_u]Yarrow[/name_u] (I really like this one!)
Addiena [name_f]Hemera[/name_f]
Addiena [name_f]Hestia[/name_f]

I personally would pronounce it like [name_m]Add[/name_m]-e-na. I love it’s meaning I just think that most people would struggle on pronouncing it. Although if you love it then go for it!

If you’re in a Welsh speaking area or the valleys, I think it would work as a first since the correct pronunciation would be an easy correction to make. If you’re in a less Welsh speaking area, like the major cities, it won’t be very usuable as you’ll probably face a lot of constant correcting on pronunciation and spelling (I faced this with my simpler name).

The first few times I saw you mention Addiena, I always assumed the Welsh pronunciation first and would corrected myself to an [name_f]English[/name_f] one. So when you confirmed that the Welsh pronunciation is correct, I was happy because I think it sounds much nicer.

It’s definitely usable very unique and sleek, occasionally at school she would maybe have to correct her name a few times due to the ‘d’ but that’s very common for many people with a variety of names, go for what you love!

I really like it, but would not have pronounced it correctly. I love pronunciation that you provided and the meaning. Go for it!

No, sorry.

It looks made up.
I could see it pronounced addy-ay-na or addy-enna

Looks like edema. I think it’s unusable.

It’s lovely but I would automatically pronounce it add-ee-en-a
