Is Aiden too popular?

Our first baby’s name is [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_u]Carman[/name_u].

My wife and I have kinda stumbled upon a name for our second boy (due in Sept) of [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] [name_u]Carman[/name_u] (or a variation on the spelling).

We picked out [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_m]LONG[/name_m] before it became the #1 name for baby boys. That being said, I’m a bit concerned about how popular [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] has been in the past, and having two names starting with A. Am I over thinking this or are there other variations or similar names that would work well.

Other names we enjoy and are considering but haven’t settled on or worked out middle names for, are:
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_m]Austin[/name_m]
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u]

Thank you,
[name_m]Clinton[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_u]Carman[/name_u]
[name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_u]Carman[/name_u]

Where do you live that [name_m]Asher[/name_m] is the #1 name for boys?

[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is very popular and with all combined spellings is ranked in the top 5. [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is much more popular than [name_m]Asher[/name_m] has ever been.

[name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_u]Porter[/name_u], [name_m]Austin[/name_m], and [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] are all less common. I think [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] works really well as a little brother to [name_m]Asher[/name_m]. [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] is great.

Oh my goodness, YES it’s too popular. [name_m]Ive[/name_m] never met an [name_m]Asher[/name_m], but [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is absurdly popular. One year, my son had 4 Aidens in a small church [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] school class. I love [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_u]Porter[/name_u] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] from your list.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] if it is popular… If you love it use it!! I love it it means little fiery one!!
I have met many little Aidens bit it is a great name regardless
[name_m]Asher[/name_m] is also a lovely name!!
From your list I really like [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]

I personally think that [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is too popular.

What about [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]? I think it sounds fuller and better balanced than [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]. [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] is a very underrated, gorgeous name in my opinion.

When you combine spellings, I believe [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is the most popular name for baby boys after [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. I’m not sure where you live that [name_m]Asher[/name_m] is #1. You might consider [name_m]Eamon[/name_m]. It’s pronounced similar to [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] (AY-mon), but far less popular.

[name_m]Asher[/name_m] is number one on nameberry I think, which is probably what you saw. In reality statistic wise it isn’t all that popular, although it is trending. [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is not only way more popular, there is [name_u]Brayden[/name_u], [name_m]Cayden[/name_m], [name_u]Jayden[/name_u], [name_m]Zayden[/name_m], [name_u]Hayden[/name_u], and all their variations. What about [name_u]Auden[/name_u]?? One of my favorites

I know a lot of baby Ashers and a lot of preschool+ Aidens. I still think [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is a beautiful name, and it fits well with the sibling.

[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is extremely popular, too trendy and common. But none the less it’s a handsome name. If you love it go for it. Your opinion is what matters most.

[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] and it’s many variants is too popular to me. So is [name_m]Asher[/name_m]. Popularity is subjective, keep that in mind. [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] does sound quite handsome.

Other suggestions of popular (but possibly less) names: [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_m]Gavin[/name_m], [name_m]Declan[/name_m], [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_m]Levi[/name_m]

[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is so year 2000. It became popular from the Sex in the City show that happened in the late '90’s.

Thank you for all of your responses!

I was referencing [name_m]Asher[/name_m] as #1 according to Nameberry.

And I live in Northern [name_u]California[/name_u] and have heard of several “acquaintances of friends” who have children named [name_m]Asher[/name_m].
