Is Almarinda too fluffy?

[name]One[/name] of my great-aunts was named Almarinda, and though I thought it was weird when I first heard her name, I’ve grown to love the style and sound. My question is, though, is it too fancy/stuffy for a little girl? Now that I’ve heard the name a lot, I can’t really figure out how it will sound to other people. Is it close enough to [name]Amanda[/name] to pass? Or too out there? Opinions?

I love it and think its fine! But I’m also the kind of person that loves names like [name]Valentina[/name] and [name]Seraphina[/name], so don’t trust me on this. Lol

Almarinda is great middle name material. It’s not versatile enough to use as a first name.

This name is just plain weird.

It’s a bit weird as a first name, but has lots of nn possibilities. It would definitely work in the middle.

I think it might be a bit much for a first name…it has a lot going on. It does have a pretty sound, though, and I think with the right first name, it would make a great middle!

I think it has a pretty sound, though it does sound made up and smoosh-y. However, the nns are endless, from [name]Alma[/name] to [name]Indy[/name], [name]Ally[/name] to [name]Mari[/name], so I think it is wearable.

haha, yep. If you wanted to honor your aunt, you could use the name [name]Alma[/name]. I don’t think Almarinda is close to [name]Amanda[/name] at all!

From what i am seeing Almarinda is closer to [name]Miranda[/name] then [name]Amanda[/name]. Almarinda could be nick named [name]Alma[/name], [name]Ally[/name], [name]Mari[/name], or [name]Ren[/name].

I’ll admit i am not crazy about it myself, but that shouldn’t stop you from using it.

I think [name]Alma[/name] alone is so beautiful and gentle.
But I like Almarinda! Is it Spanish? Perhaps she could use it as her full name on formal documents and at graduations and with elderly family members, with [name]Alma[/name] (or even [name]Marin[/name] if you don’t like [name]Alma[/name]) being the name she goes by most of the time.

If you love it, use it. I do think it’s a little stuffy, but I would have loved it if it were [name]Amarinda[/name] without the l. [name]Alma[/name] would work just as well.
