Is Amber Dated ? 😖

i really like amber, despite the fact that it’s pretty dated. i definitely prefer it to ember. maybe using it as a middle paired with a less dated name would make it work.

I like [name_f]Amber[/name_f]! It’s gorgeous and gives nice warm, rich autumn and precious gemstone vibes.

Yes, it’s definitely dated. That’s not a bad thing but it’s just not my style because of it. I really like [name_u]Ember[/name_u] though, and I think it feels a lot more fresh compared to [name_f]Amber[/name_f] (although, not as much as it could since it does blend a bit with other popular [name_f]Em[/name_f]- names).

It’s definitely dated, but it gives off such beautiful imagery in my head! I do think using it in the middle would be better, perhaps with a fresher sounding first name.

I’m also a fan of Ember!

I agree with others that it feels dated, but it’s still a name I’d find cute on a baby! It’s not Susan or Ashley if that makes sense, because it wasn’t as overdone when it was popular. That said, I do prefer Ember since it does feel fresher.

Probably yes. I like [name_f]Amber[/name_f] however I don’t really like [name_u]Ember[/name_u].

Nope I like it. It’s never been popular enough to be tied to a particular decade/time period IMO.

It’s dated, and that died bug me because I love it. Don’t much like [name_u]Ember[/name_u], which is unusual for me. I would say I would use [name_f]Amberly[/name_f] or [name_f]Ambretta[/name_f] instead.

Where I live i wouldn’t say it’s dated, I’ve met lots of young [name_m]Ambers[/name_m] but never any that are older than 10

I like [name_f]Amber[/name_f] and [name_u]Ember[/name_u], [name_u]Ember[/name_u] I think has a cooler twist. I really like both names, but the downside to [name_u]Ember[/name_u] is that many people might mishear it as [name_f]Amber[/name_f].

I like Amber! It’s definitely older… but not terrible.

Yes and no. Is it a name I associate with 90s kids? Yes. Was it in a sense ahead of its time due to the fact that it is essentially a short but sweet nature name without a clear sort of ‘gendered’ ending? Also yes. So I feel like in that sense it could still be a very contemporary choice.

I feel like [name_f]Amber[/name_f] has had its moment, maybe in the early 2000s? That doesn’t mean it’s unusable though, it still makes a good name.

It is dated, but I would prefer to see an [name_f]Amber[/name_f] over [name_u]Ember[/name_u].

[name_f]Amber[/name_f] is dated, but I also think it’s very sweet and I prefer it to [name_u]Ember[/name_u]! I do think [name_u]Ember[/name_u] would be the fresher choice if that’s what you’re looking for, though.

It is a little dated but not in a bad way! I love [name_f]Amber[/name_f]! [name_u]Bright[/name_u] and bubbly. [name_u]Ember[/name_u] is gorgeous too but it has a slightly different vibe -warm and soft

I’m biased because this is my name, but I like it! Definitely dated though, I am mid 30s and all the other [name_m]Ambers[/name_m] I know are in the same age range.

I think [name_u]Ember[/name_u] feels fresher, but [name_f]Amber[/name_f] isn’t dated!
