I’m trying to avoid popular… If so, can you suggest something else?
It depends on where you live, I guess. I’ve never met one/seen a birth announcement for one where I’m at. Check the announcements in your area! Peruse Facebook, maybe.
Name suggestions:
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u]
[name_m]Abram[/name_m]
[name_m]Ian[/name_m]
[name_m]Axel[/name_m]
[name_u]Seth[/name_u]
[name_u]Jordan[/name_u]
[name_u]Ari[/name_u]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]
I agree it depends on area, I have never met an [name_m]Asher[/name_m]. (Including like 150 kids in the mommy and me group I run or any at my daughter’s large 0-5 day care). I don’t believe it’s in the 100 most popular names in the US (and if it is definitely not in the top 80-90). It’s even rarer in the Uk (was less than 300 just two years ago).
However, it has been growing in popularity in the past few years, and interest in it did seem to peak last year - possibly from the release of the movie version of The Giver?? Or maybe just because people are looking for alternative biblical names
