My #1 girl name is [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] also. [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is not my top top first name however.
I love romantic, whimsical, classic names that are not too outlandish or trendy. (My last name is not super long)
Would [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] work? Or is [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] better left as [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?
If [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] DOES work, my follow up question would be: Suggestions for my sibset names [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u]
I really love each individual name (Aurelia, Briar & Rose) but together it feels too ‘R’ heavy to me so it throws off flow. I don’t think you have this problem with Aurelia Rose I think it’s just the extra ‘R’ sounds in Briar that does it. However, this all depends on how you say Aurelia. I say Aurelia Or-e-lee-a and I know some say O-ray-lee-a. I think the latter pronunciation works better with Briar Rose because ‘R’ is less prominent since some of the ‘R’ sounds are said differently. If you pronounce Aurelia O-ray-lee-a I think this combo works and flows beautifully (esp b/c there is more diversity in sounds)!
I think Amalia Briar Rose or another first name that doesn’t have a prominent ‘R’ sound might work better. From your signature I really like Ophelia Briar Rose and Victoria Briar Rose (to me the ‘R’ sound in Victoria is less prominent and the placement of the ‘R’ flows better than Or-e-lee-a pronunciation).
I also really like the suggestions of Cassia Elowen Rain and River Peregrine Jude.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] & [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]! (Though is [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] too close to [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]?)
em.estelle- I totally see what you’re saying. I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] does work better., magical. But [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is more like 10th on my list
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so pretty!
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] ____ [name_u]Rain[/name_u]:
(I really like the suggestion of [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u]!)
Insert agreement with what @bellalily said. Overall, a resounding YES to [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a double mn, but not with [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] as it’s so close to [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. ([name_f]IMO[/name_f])
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], perhaps? Or maybe you’d like [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] or [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] for another A-name?
I second [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u]! [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] has a lovely sound. I also really like [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] – but [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] might be too close to [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]. [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] would work well, and I love [name_u]River[/name_u] sEastian [name_u]Jude[/name_u]!
I love [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! It’s beautiful!
[name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Amias[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] works wonderfully with [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! For [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], how about;
I don’t like all 3 together… [name_f]IMO[/name_f] it’s too r-heavy whichever way you say [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]. I’m not sure I really like [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] together either… it sounds too descriptive, like it’s just clarifying the type of rose.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous though, and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is fine too.
I do think it’s a little much, sorry. All of the names are lovely individually. But for me the similarity to Disney’s princess [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]/[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is too strong of an association when all three names here are used together.
I think you could get away with [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] respectively. Personally I do think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is very sweet.
I came here to say what @bellalily and others have mentioned - it just strikes me as super close to Sleeping Beauty, and cute to the point of almost cloying. Could be that it’s just not my style, but the Disney princess association does seem a bit overt.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is really beautiful and sounds like the name of a princess. I think it’s really sweet combination. It does have a very strong Disney vibe but if you don’t mind about that then go for it!
