I love it but am worried it’s getting too popular… the disney connection never bothered me because it’s not one of the better known disney names but I have noticed more and more people catching on to it… I’m a little concerned about the [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls revival as well and the inevitably newfound popularity of [name_u]Rory[/name_u] I live in the UK, do you think a child called [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] would be sentenced to a schooling life of ‘not that [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], the other one’ or ‘[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] B, [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] D and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] M please come to the headteacher’s office’
I also like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] though it’s a little too frilly… [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is a second fave. I also love [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] but not sure that will get a great reception outside of the celtic isles?
I live in the US and I have never met an [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. I do love the name, though!
I love [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is cute, too. I have only met 1 [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], and (aside from on NB) not heard of any recent children named [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] or [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. However…I am not exactly sure how it is in the UK. But even if you have met or at least heard other children called by any of these names, I think anyone of these names is gorgeous and still fairly uncommon. Unlike [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], etc.
I absolutely love [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and I am all for unusual, unique names. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] has gotten more popular in recent years, but its gorgeous. And I love the nickname [name_u]Rory[/name_u]!!!
With all that being said though, I saw that [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is your second choice and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is adorable. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to make sure there wont be a ton of other girls with your little ones name, and to go with something you also love, I would choose [name_f]RAMONA[/name_f]
I like in the U.S. too and have never met an [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] or heard of anyone calling their child [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is equally unheard of here. I have known 1 [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. That would be my first choice of your names.
The only one I ever met was [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] at Disney. I think you’re safe. I personally love [name_u]Rory[/name_u], but [name_f]Aura[/name_f] is a more distinct nn option.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] are excellent choices as well.
Thanks guys! so nice to hear everyone likes my name selection You’re all swaying me a little more toward [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] now haha I didn’t think it would be so popular with you guys! I love the [name_f]Princess[/name_f] connection with [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] because it has a more boyish nickname in [name_u]Rory[/name_u], which I feel balances that out. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is a more recent love! I have honour names for middle names, which are Irish sounding as well so the first names need to be a little celtic/nordic in vibe but also work as strong british names! Thanks for all of your input!
A friend wanted to use [name_f]Auralee[/name_f] or Auraley, Auralie(??). I never asked her how she would spell it because she had a boy and the name was forgotten. I prefer [name_f]Auralee[/name_f], nn [name_f]Aurie[/name_f].
To me, both [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and aura are things, more nouns than names, but I know this is a popular trend.
Isn’t [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] “[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] the Pest”?
