We both like the name [name_u]Avery[/name_u] for little boy, but I just noticed that’s its pretty popular for girls nowadays. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys think this will e a problem while growing up??? Thoughts please! (Full name would be [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m])
I’ve met more male Averys than females. I think it’s handsome.
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is really nice.
It’s actually a popular boys name as well. It made 187 on the charts just last year! I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is a masculine name, and you won’t have to worry about it being a girl’s name.
I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is so handsome! It’s a boy-name-on-a-girl when used for a daughter, imo, not a feminine name. I bet he’ll meet other male Averys. I know male Aubreys, Averys, Sidneys, Mackenzies… I don’t think it’d be a big deal.
Not at all. It’s popular for girls, but it’s still rising for boys (and in the top 200 no less). I think it’s handsome on a boy.
ETA: I only just noticed the full name. Avery Jackson Mitchell is very handsome; it’s a great choice.
I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] works very well for a boy. It feels more masculine then feminine to me. I think [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is a very strong and handsome name for a boy.
Yes, [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is still nice and usable for a boy [name_f]IMO[/name_f]!
You guys have had made me feel a little better about this name…thanks for the help!!
I kind of like it on girls, but prefer it for boys I like the combination as well. Go for it!
I know a wonderful and handsome young boy named [name_u]Avery[/name_u]. I think it’s a perfect name!
I love [name_u]Avery[/name_u]! It’s on my own short list–I would love to have an [name_u]Avery[/name_u] someday! Then again, it’s a family name for me, and there’s a pretty fab character in a story I love with [name_u]Avery[/name_u] in his name, and I think any future son of mine would get a kick out of being named after him, as he definitely will grow up on the story, like I did.
I’ve never seen the appeal of [name_u]Avery[/name_u] on a girl, though–it just doesn’t sound that feminine to me at all. (And I agree with the others–there’s no mistaking [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] for a girl!) Besides, even though it’s super popular and trendy for the girls, the popularity is still continuing to rise for the boys, and it’s the most popular it’s ever been (and it’s jumped nearly 20 spots in the last year!). I would have absolutely no qualms using it.
All the best!
Honestly, I think of it first as a girls name, but only because a variant of [name_u]Avery[/name_u] was one of my grandmother’s names. I still think it looks good on boys, and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is a great name. Plus, anyone who watches [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy will think of the handsome [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u]!
No ! It’s only masculine for me. I like it.
I love it for boys, way more than for girls. [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is a great name - but like the person above me said, i did sort of think of [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] from [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy. Not the hugest deal to me though, in terms of celebrity/character references.
I know two Averys. [name_f]One[/name_f] is my 12 year old cousin who is a boy. He doesn’t seem to have any problem with his name. In fact it really suits him as he is such a sweet and soft hearted guy. The other is my mom’s friend’s daughter but she spells her name [name_f]Averie[/name_f]. She is 5.
However, when my mother (who had never heard the name before) first asked her friend what her kids names were she at first assumed that [name_f]Averie[/name_f] was a boy. So while [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is getting more popular for girls, I think that most people still assume it is a boys name (or unisex). I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is handsome!
I love it for a boy! I also love it for a girl, though on a girl i would spell it [name_f]Averie[/name_f].
[name_u]Avery[/name_u] is my nephew’s name, so I definitely think it works on a boy. [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] is a handsome name.
Classically, [name_u]Avery[/name_u] has macho cowboy swagger.
Recently, I hear [name_u]Avery[/name_u] used more for girls.
With all that being said, it works for both genders: it’s not too girly, it’s not too boy-ish.
I say go for it!
I dont think it is too girly at all…even though I only know girls named [name_u]Avery[/name_u], it is still one of my all time favourite Boy names. I think it is unisex and perfectly balanced. I like [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] for a boy! Use it!!
