Is Benjamin too overused?

We’re trying to name baby #7 (yep, a sweet surprise baby), and already having 5 boys, we’ve used up the names we agree upon ([name]John[/name], [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Peter[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Matthew[/name] - with [name]Grace[/name] being our girl. So far, the only name hubby is agreeing to is [name]Benjamin[/name] if this baby is a boy - but what do you think? Is it too overused? Thanks!

Nope. I think it’s a great name with a lot of good options. It would fit in perfect with your others.

I love [name]Benjamin[/name]. It is not too overused in my opinion. It is one of my very favorite classic boy names. It makes complete sense with the rest of your children’s names. I am smiling to myself because I am wondering how fantastic and annoying it must be for [name]Grace[/name] to have 6 brothers

It would fit just fine with your others. I only know 2 boys named [name]Benjamin[/name]. [name]Both[/name] go by the full name.

Your names are all very classic and oft-used. [name]Benjamin[/name] is beautiful and fits perfectly with your sibset. Who could resist lovely [name]Benjamin[/name] [name]Bunny[/name] in his tam o’shanter? That’s my first association. Then [name]Ben[/name] [name]Franklin[/name] of course. [name]Benji[/name]!

[name]Benjamin[/name] is one of my favorites for a boy. I don’t think its overused. I think its classic and masculine and it ages well.

[name]Benjamin[/name] is common but not overused. It fits perfectly with your children’s names.

Congrats on #7! I love Biblical boy’s name too. My sons are [name]Paul[/name], [name]Mark[/name], and [name]James[/name] and we’ve settled on [name]Andrew[/name] if we have another son. I’ll echo everyone else that [name]Benjamin[/name] is a great choice.

I’m with everyone else. It’s not over-used. I only know of 2 Benjamins (1 is in his 30’s the other is 3 years-old.).

I don’t think so. [name]Benjamin[/name] is a lovely name.

I don’t think it’s overused, I think I’ve only met 2 [name]Ben[/name]'s in my whole life. It’s a lovely name and a timeless classic.

I work at at Children’s hospital and I’ve seen a lot of [name]Ben[/name]'s lately … so I would have to disagree with the others and say that I do think it is becoming overused. That being said, it is one of my favourites - and the popularity is one of the only things holding me back on it. I think it goes really nicely with your sibset.

I don’t think it’s any more overused than your other children’s names. Which are all familiar, but gorgeous and timeless. I think it fits in really well with your other children. Honestly, I only know one [name]Benjamin[/name] under the age of 10–I know much more my own age or who went to school with one of my little sisters (the youngest of which is now a senior in high school, so almost an entirely different generation). I think [name]Benjamin[/name]'s lovely, and I would love to see it with [name]John[/name], [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Matthew[/name], [name]Grace[/name], and and [name]Peter[/name]!

Good luck!

Fits perfectly with your other kids.
