[name_m]Hi[/name_m], I stumbled across the word ‘Boux’ today, and it just seems like it could be a little girls name. But I don’t think it is. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it’s useable? IS it a name?!

I’m not sure how you’d pronounce it. Is it like [name_u]Boo[/name_u] or [name_m]Bow[/name_m]?
It looks like a faux-[name_m]French[/name_m] word but I’m a non-francophone so maybe it is legit.

A Google search revealed a chain of lingerie stores in the UK and a commune in [name_f]France[/name_f]. It looks like a faux [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling of [name_u]Bo[/name_u]. Kind of tacky, honestly.
Looks like a fake [name_m]French[/name_m] word that would sound like ‘boo’ - it would rhyme with roux, right? It reminds me of how LSU fans spell everything in fake [name_m]French[/name_m]: “geaux tigers” instead of “go tigers.”
It’s usable as a nickname, but I’d spell it [name_u]Boo[/name_u].
Boue is “mud” in [name_m]French[/name_m], “boux” looks like a pluralized form of mud (except that you can’t pluralize “mud”). Not great inspiration, in my opinion. Sorry!
It looks like a [name_m]French[/name_m] nickname to me. I wouldn’t mind it as a nickname but it feels insubstantial as a full name. I’d definitely pronounce it “[name_u]BOO[/name_u]”, not “[name_u]BO[/name_u]”, which would be spelled “[name_m]Beau[/name_m]” or “Beaux”.

If you really love it, what about something like [name_m]Beau[/name_m]? Kind of close, but it is an actual word in [name_m]French[/name_m]. Although it’s more common for boys, you could technically give it to a girl 
I agree it looks like fake [name_m]French[/name_m]. Going by [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation rules, it would be pronounced like “boo.” It could work as a cute nickname but not a full name, and even then I’d just spell it [name_u]Boo[/name_u].
If I saw this I would pronounce it boo, I don’t think it’s usable as a name. It reminds me of [name_f]Honey[/name_f] [name_u]Boo[/name_u]-[name_u]Boo[/name_u]

OP, if you like [name_u]Bo[/name_u], I think it works best as a nickname on a girl. Have you considered [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]?
