Is Branson too weird for a boy name?

I love the name [name_m]Branson[/name_m] because of [name_m]Tom[/name_m] [name_m]Branson[/name_m] from Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u]… But would be weird as a first name??

To be honest, my first thought was Raisin [name_u]Bran[/name_u]. :grimacing: It’s not a bad name, it has that cool modern sound a lot of people like, but with [name_u]Bran[/name_u] being the most obvious nickname it could be a bit silly.

My first thought is [name_m]Branson[/name_m], [name_f]Missouri[/name_f]. There are plenty other city/place names in use, so I don’t see why [name_m]Branson[/name_m] couldn’t work as a fn.

I prefer [name_m]Bronson[/name_m] to [name_m]Branson[/name_m]

I like it ! I don’t think it’s weird at all

I don’t think it’s too weird

I don’t think it’s weird.

I know a little [name_m]Bronson[/name_m], and [name_m]Branson[/name_m] just feels like a variation on that. I think it’s perfectly usable.

Makes me think of [name_m]Richard[/name_m] [name_m]Branson[/name_m]…

I love it! And I think it would fit in today. It hits several trends: surname names, place names, -son names…

I think [name_m]Branson[/name_m] is perfectly usable as a first name for boy and has a similar sound to a lot of fashionable boy names I say go for it

Not weird at all! I’ve also loved the name ever since DA. Seems like a great new version of [name_m]Brandon[/name_m] or [name_m]Brendon[/name_m].

Definitely [name_m]Branson[/name_m] over [name_m]Bronson[/name_m]. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Bronson[/name_m] anyone???

Not at all! [name_m]Branson[/name_m] is really handsome. I think it’s similar to other -son names: [name_u]Carson[/name_u], [name_m]Larson[/name_m], [name_u]Jackson[/name_u]… And [name_u]Bran[/name_u] would make a cute nickname.

I don’t think it’s weird at all! I know 2 Bronsons, a gajillion [name_m]Brandon[/name_m]’s, and a [name_m]Brendan[/name_m]! Why not [name_m]Branson[/name_m]?? I think it would fit right in but be under-the-radar!

I don’t think it’s that wierd, and I actually know a [name_m]Branson[/name_m], so other people must like it too!

I don’t think it’s weird, but I can’t say I like the sound. I prefer [name_m]Brannan[/name_m].
