I will give you an honest opinion. Yes, I think it’s a very feminine name. I 100% understand that it’s not, but it feels very feminine to me. The association with [name]Brooke[/name] is too strong. I think a lot of people on Nameberry will tell you it’s fine, but keep in mind this forum is EXTREMELY open minded when it comes to baby names. My advice is to take [name]Brooks[/name] for a test drive in some non-Nameberry forums to get a more “realistic” view of what others think.

That being said, I would MUCH rather meet a little [name]Brooks[/name] than one more [name]Jayden[/name], [name]Landon[/name], [name]Elijah[/name], or [name]Austin[/name]. Good luck!

It’s not feminine at all imo! I know more guys with the name [name]Brooke[/name] than girls, so to me, [name]Brooks[/name] is even more masculine. I don’t see it as feminine at all.

Good luck!

[name]Brooks[/name] sounds rugged and masculine to me.

I know a man named [name]Brooks[/name] and honestly can’t picture it on a girl.

I know 3 people named [name]Brooks[/name]. A midldle aged man, and two teenage boys. I don’t think it’s girly at all

It is very masculine to me. Right now I always picture that sleazy guy from Real Housewives of [name]Orange[/name] County named [name]Brooks[/name] but I definitely watch more bad TV than the general public so that piece probably wouldn’t bother other people.

Great name, though!

lol. I never got into the Real Housewives of anywhere, so that’s not an association for me, but I do think of [name]Eloise[/name] at Christmastime–[name]Rachel[/name]'s sleazy fiance was named [name]Brooks[/name] [name]Oliver[/name], III. He was trying to weasel [name]Rachel[/name] out of all her money, to pay off his creditors. I still like it as a name, though, despite all the sleazy associations.

I think its rather masculine, along with [name]Brook[/name]. It is a brand of running shoes in Aus though.

It sounds very masculine to me: handsome, adventerous, and clean.

I went to school with a male named [name]Brooks[/name] and I know females with the mn [name]Brooke[/name] (including my daughter); I do not find [name]Brooks[/name] feminine.

I definitely don’t think [name]Brooks[/name] is too feminine! (It was my maiden name so I have some difficulty picturing it as a fn, but I know it is used that way and could definitely see it working for a little boy.) My biggest problem with it is that I don’t like names ending in S, but otherwise it like it! I would love to meet a little [name]Brooks[/name]!

It makes me think of [name]Brooks[/name] [name]Robinson[/name], legendary ballplayer, so I get a very masculine vibe from it. It’s a family name for my [name]SIL[/name], and she and my brother considered it for a boy during their first pregnancy (they had a girl instead).

I don’t find it feminine at all. Go for it!

I’ve never found the girls name [name]Brooke[/name] particularly feminine. I find the name very harsh and unattractive. Although not my style, [name]Brooks[/name] is fine for a boy.

I’ve only ever known 1 [name]Brooks[/name] and he is a football playing boy. I’m sure it could be seen as a little softer than many boy names, but if you love it, go for it!

My Dad’s name is [name]Brooks[/name]. I think the name is more masculine - I’ve never met a female [name]Brooks[/name], although I have two friends named [name]Brooke[/name].

I’ve only known one [name]Brooks[/name] - a man in his mid-30s. Until your question, it never would have crossed my mind that the name was even remotely feminine.
