When you meet or imagine a boy named [name]Carson[/name], what do you think? Is [name]Carson[/name] a little common/bland? or is it still distinguished/stylish sounding? What dose the name [name]Carson[/name] make you think about what the boy’s parent’s must be like? What sort of adult man do you imagine being called [name]Carson[/name]?
It seems to me that [name]Carson[/name] was a forerunner, popularity wise, of the -son ([name]Benson[/name], [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Edison[/name], [name]Addison[/name], [name]Emerson[/name], [name]Jackson[/name]…) that are so trendy tight now, so [name]Carson[/name] feels less trendy, but maybe not as fresh? What do you think?
To me, [name]Carson[/name] is sort of blah and overdone, boring. It fits right in (to me, anyway) with the [name]Parker[/name]/[name]Hunter[/name]/[name]Tanner[/name]/[name]Gunner[/name]/[name]Carter[/name]/etc. surnamey trend that I’m getting tired of. I [name]LOVE[/name] a lot of -son names, actually ([name]Edison[/name], [name]Grayson[/name], [name]Hudson[/name], [name]Emerson[/name], [name]Jameson[/name], etc., are huge favorites of mine), but I’m just not keen on [name]Carson[/name].
I do think the association to [name]Ben[/name] [name]Carson[/name] is a great one–I’m not sure how famous [name]Ben[/name] [name]Carson[/name] is outside of my circle, lol, but half the kids I know call him their hero… He’s a neurosurgeon working out of Johns Hopkins. He’s done a lot for a lot of people.
I also like the similar [name]Carsten[/name], which I believe is a Dutch (?) variation of the name. [name]Don[/name]'t quote me on that, though, haha.
Good luck!
When I think of [name]Carson[/name] I go straight to [name]Carson[/name] [name]Daily[/name] even after all these years he still firmly holds that name image for me. I know an equal amount of male and female Carsons so to me it is just a common and plain unisex name. I don’t really have a specific image for the parents, except that every single [name]Carson[/name] I have met has been a blonde so I guess I see a blonde. I think [name]Carson[/name] is so common now that his name would not give him any restrictions on what he wanted to do in life. I can see a doctor just as much as professional surfer for that matter so I think he would have all the typical options that someone named [name]David[/name] or [name]Michael[/name] would have. I agree that [name]Carson[/name] feels a lot less trendy but a lot less fresh as well. I think [name]Harrison[/name] or [name]Grayson[/name] might be nice options for you.
I’ve actually never met a boy with this name. I’ve met 2 girls with it though. It doesn’t feel like a girls name to me, I just find it interesting that I’ve met 2 girl [name]Carson[/name]'s.
I think it’s a little boring and I don’t particularly like it. I like other -son names better, ex- [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Anderson[/name], Colson, [name]Dawson[/name], [name]Greyson[/name], Tamson, etc…
For me, [name]Carson[/name] isn’t boring or trendy, just kind of cowboyish. I’ve never met a [name]Carson[/name] before though. I imagine [name]Carson[/name] will grow up being a cellphone salesman or something like that. The kind of “corporate casual attire” type job, I suppose. His parents probably wouldn’t be the biggest risk takers in life, but I wouldn’t say they’re boring.
Not a fan. Also hear this a lot for girls.
Thanks for the input! I agree with many of you who find [name]Carson[/name] lackluster, however my husband loves it, so I want to explore the possibility of other -son names. I am starting a new thread: Nameberry - Welcome to the Nameberry Forums
Very tired of [name]Carson[/name], but have a cousin named Colson. Same sound/idea, but much fresher!
