Hello everyone! Recently I’ve been loving [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Cece[/name_f] (I think [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] make lovely sister names), but I’m wondering if it’s too dated. Please let me know your thoughts, and if you have any other “[name_f]Cece[/name_f]” suggestions, because the only other ones I can think of are [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], and [name_f]Celine[/name_f]. Thank you!
I don’t think so. To me [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] is a wonderful vintage name, not dated at all. For [name_f]Cece[/name_f] I would say anything with a C beginning or even in the middle could work, but my first thought was [name_f]Cerelia[/name_f], then [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]/[name_f]Frances[/name_f] or [name_f]Felicity[/name_f].
I have never met a [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] under the age of 60 - the only one I know is my parents neighbor who is in her mid 60s.
I like it. It’s pretty and melodic and isn’t heard that often. I also really like [name_f]Cece[/name_f] as a nickname.
Never! It’s a perpetually sophisticated choice.
No, I don’t think it is! And I’m usually pretty sensitive to if a name sounds dated or not.
Its an ok name not dated bit not my fav name in the world but its def a good solid name not weird not annoying nice sound etc
I know young (under the age 10) Cecilias so I don’t see it as dated.
I like [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] but love [name_f]Celia[/name_f] even more. And [name_f]Cece[/name_f] is such a sweet nickname!
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] sounds lovely tome. Not dated at all. [name_f]Cece[/name_f] is a cute nn.
I know several teenage Cecilias and one uses [name_f]Cece[/name_f]. I also know a [name_f]Christine[/name_f] who uses [name_f]Cece[/name_f]. I’m not sure what her middle name is, but I would think any double C combination could work especially well. [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], etc.
Yes! [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] is beautiful.
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] isn’t my style, but I think [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is lovely. I thought maybe you could get to [name_f]Cece[/name_f] through initials: something like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] for instance. [name_m]Just[/name_m] an idea. I remember reading somewhere ages ago that actress [name_f]Courteney[/name_f] Cox goes by the nickname [name_f]Cece[/name_f].
Not dated at all. Traditional and sophisticated. Works very well as a sister for [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]. Also for [name_f]Cece[/name_f]: [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] and [name_f]Celestine[/name_f].
Not dated at all! I consider it a classic and those never go out of style. It goes fabulously with [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]!
Thank you for your lovely opinions, everyone! I was on the fence about [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], but I think your positive feedback has pushed me to put it on my favorites list!
Absolutely not! I prefer the [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] spelling–I think it’s a bit prettier–but [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is lovely and completely timeless. I feel like it’s a modern classic, maybe because it gets a reasonable amount of attention now and I grew up with two of them. I would love to meet a little [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cece[/name_f] any day!
I have [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] nn Cici/Ceci on my list. I am biased, but I think that works pretty well!
I don’t think [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] is dated at all! I’m not personally very keen on it, but I don’t think it’s dated. I knew a [name_f]Cece[/name_f] who’s full name was [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]. I also think it would work as a nickname for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], even if it is just a tad far fetched.
Maybe, but in a good, vintage way! We are using [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is we are having a girl (find out in 4 weeks!) I love how underused and beautiful these two C names are.
