Is Charlotte really the next big name??

Me and my husband really love the name [name]Charlotte[/name] but everywhere I look it says it’s going to be super popular. I’ve never know anyone named [name]Charlotte[/name] but I’m worried it’s going to be the next [name]Sara[/name] or [name]Emily[/name]. Any ideas?

Yes i have noticed a huge increase in the interest in [name]Charlotte[/name]. Thank Sex and The City and the [name]Princess[/name] Frog. I don’t think it will be the #1name, but it will be up there.

Where was it in The [name]Princess[/name] Frog? The princesses’ name was [name]Tiana[/name] and the evening star’s name was [name]Evangeline[/name].

[name]Charlotte[/name] is classic and if you love it, go for it! [name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name] are cute and distinctive nicknames too.

[name]Charlotte[/name] is the gil who Tianas momma makes all the dresses for. She goes by [name]Lottie[/name] through most of the movie.

I believe [name]Charlotte[/name] was [name]Tiana[/name]'s best friend?? I also think it is going to jump up some more in popularity. There were 5,314 baby girls named [name]Charlotte[/name] in 2010, and most of the mentions I’ve seen on here were in the last year. I don’t know…maybe it will jump to around 6,000? Maybe not, as there’s plenty of other names that will probably jump up as well.

Yes the [name]Princess[/name] and the Frog have ruined two of my favorites. Friends used to laugh at my “old lady” names but now everybody loves [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name]

But I’m also a victim of Disney brainwashing- I adore [name]Briar[/name] (for a boy) and [name]Aurora[/name]

I am afraid so. My guess is it’s headed to the top 10 in the next 2-3 years, if it isn’t already for 2011. It’s made leaps and bounds in the last few years. It is, however, still a fantastic name.

Thanks ladies. My second choice is [name]Eleanor[/name] so we might just go with that one. Might spell it Alianor.

[name]Charlotte[/name] was the [name]Tiana[/name]'s best friend from childhood. The blonde one.

And to answer the main question, I definitely think it’s the next big name.

I think it’s already pretty popular, but it’s a gorgeous, soft, classic name with cute nn potential so it makes sense. [name]Eleanor[/name] is pretty too and you’ll be less likely to meet one…but [name]Elle[/name] / [name]Ella[/name] ect & [name]Nora[/name] / [name]Norah[/name] are rather popular. Alianor is just strange imo.

Maybe [name]Charlize[/name]?

I guess it only really matters if me and my husband like it. [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name]… Hmm She will probably be named when I see her because I change my mind everyday

In Australia in NSW (our biggest state) [name]Charlotte[/name] was #5 in 2010 and #6 in 2011.
I don’t think it will be a #1 but it is fairly popular.
[name]Eleanor[/name] wasn’t in the top 100 at all.
IMHO names like [name]Charlotte[/name] are popular because they are beautiful names.
Perhaps you could have [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]?
