I’m writing a story in which a female character has heard about a male character before, but doesn’t realize she’s met him before until she actually sees him. I was planning to name the male character [name_m]Dov[/name_m], but that’s really distinctive. Could [name_m]Dov[/name_m] work as a nickname for [name_m]Donovan[/name_m]? If one character knows him as [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] and the other character knew him as [name_m]Dov[/name_m], then it’s more plausible that she wouldn’t realize the connection right away.
I think that works
I think that totally works, yeah. It’s more creative than just [name_m]Don[/name_m]
Yes, I think that works perfectly.
It definitely works, go for it :).
Thanks so much everyone!
I think it will work :).
Sure, it works. But there are other, more direct ways to get to [name_m]Dov[/name_m]. Have you considered [name_m]Dover[/name_m]?
I can still see a connection so maybe [name_u]Dove[/name_u] or [name_m]Dover[/name_m] would work!
[name_u]Van[/name_u] could also work as a first name…
