We recently welcomed our baby boy and are still struggling to finalize on the name. Me and my husband both came from [name]China[/name] so our boy is a Chinese American. We’d like to give him an English first name with a Chinese middle name and last name. I am thinking [name]Easton[/name] could be a good name for him. It’s not too popular and not too wierd either (in my opinion). And its ‘[name]East[/name]’ meaning could be a good fit for his oriental heritage. But I am concerned that people may limit its meaning to either a ‘place’ name or a ‘direction’, which translates into a too ‘plain’ name or later may be a source of bullying in either way.
I would appreciate a lot if any of you could share your honest thoughts on the name.
I really like the name [name]Easton[/name]. I see nothing to tease about it and I wouldn’t worry about that since kids can tease any name about anything. I think it has a classic sound to it & it’s a nice nod to your heritage. Go for it!
I think that is a cool way to incorporate y’alls heritage. I like the name [name]Easton[/name], and no I don’t think it’s too plain. At most schools, a kid wouldn’t be bullied for a name like [name]Easton[/name].
Thank you all for the kind feedback. It’s very encouraging since this name business is becoming a real source of stress and I am losing sleep on top of having a new-born-:). I know I may be over-analysing it but it’s something that’s gonna be with him for the rest of his life. Another question I have is that I see some people who picked ‘[name]Easton[/name]’ for their kids tend to have a ‘double’ first names, like [name]Easton[/name] [name]Scott[/name], [name]Easton[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]… just wondering why is that? anyone knows?
