Is Eliza too harsh sounding?

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are considering [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for our first daughter. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern is that the “Z” can sound a bit too hard. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband does not like [name_f]Elise[/name_f] so unfortunately that’s not an option! [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering thoughts on the name [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] specifically!

I’ve never thought [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] sounds harsh! It has a very open sound with lots of vowels.

I think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is lovely and not too harsh at all, especially since the “Z” is surrounded by vowels!

I’ve never thought [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] sounds harsh!! It has lots of vowels to balance out the Z sound, and even then, I don’t think most Z names sound harsh.

I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]! For me, it’s got kick or sharpness over harshness - it’s sparky and sassy, but also sweet and vintage

It’s pretty. It’s not harsh.

Not at all! Its very flowy, elegant, and graceful. The Z lends it some strength and weight which is a good thing.
