When I was a kid, there were no other Eloises, but now it’s #530 and jumped 400 places or something.I love my name, but it’s becoming very popular…
Yes for 2 reasons.
- The book about the girl who lives in The Plaza
- The whole “[name]El[/name]” name trend.
I wouldn’t worry about it. When a name becomes popular it usually means that a lot of people find the name pretty. Also I like it and even if it is the number one name in the country, I would still like it because [name]Eloise[/name] is a VERY pretty name Also keep in mind, now-a-days everyone wants a nickname so chances are the little [name]Eloise[/name]'s you see on the playground will most likely respond to [name]Ellie[/name]. (which is a shame because [name]Eloise[/name] is so much prettier) Hoped I helped
Well I live in aus, so it may not be that popular there.
Maybe. But [name]Ariadne[/name] might also become suddenly popular. Or [name]Carys[/name]. Or [name]Brunhilda[/name]. No one can predict the future, and it’s often impossible to predict whether a name will suddenly come from nowhere to massive popularity ([name]Ava[/name]), shoot up and then go right back down ([name]Tiffany[/name]), or suffer a sudden, unpredictable fall from formerly consistent popularity ([name]Katrina[/name].) You just never know, and you can’t name someone based on what may or may not happen in the future. If you like a name enough to seriously consider it, you should like it whether it’s the #1 name or is given to only 1 baby a year.
I don’t think so. If any name is getting ready to shoot up the charts, it’s [name]Charlotte[/name]. Closely followed by [name]Harper[/name]. [name]Eloise[/name]? Not so much. But like the pp said, anything can happen.
And if this helps to answer the question, the other day I was listening to a group of girls talk about what they wanted to name their kids. One of the girls said she wanted to name her daughter [name]Eloise[/name] and this was met with dead silence, as opposed to the enthusiastic giggles and exclamations of “how cute!” that came after names like [name]Kylan[/name] and Zayla.
This is a good question. It’s definitely going to become more popular but how popular? I’m not sure. It do a huge leap up in popularity but that doesn’t mean that it’s going to continue. I would still use it if you love it It’s one of my TOP names as well
In Aus it’s #89 in [name]Victoria[/name] and #100 in SA, and it’s getting more popular.
