Is Emery feminine enough?

Discovered a new name today… [name]Emery[/name]. I really like the name but I dislike how the name is “unisex.” [name]Do[/name] you think it is feminine enough for a little girl? I know [name]Avery[/name] is very common for girls now, but what about [name]Emery[/name]?

Thoughts? Thanks

The only [name]Emery[/name] I have ever known was a man, who is probably in his 70s by now. Too me it isn’t feminine in the slightest. It makes me think of an emery board which is really not the best association for a child.

[name]Emery[/name] is being increasingly given to girls, but I think of emery boards (nail files) and [name]Emory[/name] University, in [name]Atlanta[/name].

1162 girls called [name]Emery[/name] in 2011, 320 boys
249 girls called [name]Emory[/name], 173 boys
154 girls called [name]Emerie[/name], no boys

Hmm… I never made that association with an emery board. Thank you for the insight! It makes me sad but I most likely will take this off my list. I seriously think finding a name for a baby girl is almost impossible for me at this point. I always seem to find an issue with a name or I don’t like it.

What about [name]Marie[/name]? It seems similar in sound to [name]Emery[/name] but undeniably feminine and a lot less popular!

I like it if its spelled [name]Emerie[/name], seems more girly.
