Is Esme an appropriate choice to honor family hero?

could [name]Esme[/name] be a way to honor an [name]Amy[/name]? They both mean beloved.
In my family, I had a great Uncle [name]Aime[/name]. He was very loved by everyone in the family. Actually, he died a hero. He jumped in front of an armed robber to save a woman in a convince store on [name]Christmas[/name] day… My two cousins are named after him, [name]Amy[/name] and [name]Jaime[/name]. I never met him, but I am closest to those 2 cousins. I am adopted and always wanted a way to honor my family as a means of thank you as I am close to them. Or would it be strange since I am the only one in the family that never met him…family name had french origins too, so that also reinforces it. To make it more obvious to my parents I could also use my dads mn? [name]Esme[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]?
Sorry for the long explanation. I guess I’m looking for 1.is it appropriate to name after a family hero I’ve never met, but everyone else remembers 2. Is [name]Esme[/name] a legitimate namesake of [name]Aime[/name]?
also, 3. I’m not a fan of Twilight or vampires at all would [name]Esme[/name] be a weird pick for me?
However, I think it does go nicely with [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Kaia[/name] and maybe [name]Ivy[/name] ?

I think it is a great way to honor your uncle. It is not super obvious, but it still works. [name]Esme[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is stunning btw. ooo I just read your signature, [name]Tess[/name], [name]Kaia[/name], and [name]Esme[/name] are perfect together! Would you give [name]Esme[/name] second mn also?

Thanks! I wasnt sure if it really was a good idea or not since I was nursing in the middle of the night and mostly asleep haha

yes, I do the 2mn for all of them. Its a good way to get your favorite names in there and still get to honor someone. Honestly, I don’t really like [name]Sydney[/name], but it was for my mil [name]Cindy[/name]. So on a daily basis, they either go by [name]Tess[/name] or [name]Tess[/name] [name]McKayla[/name] and [name]Kaia[/name] or [name]Kaia[/name] [name]Felicity[/name].

I also love [name]Esme[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Rose[/name] too.

Emse [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is so pretty and romantic, I love it! Emse [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Rose[/name] would be nice too.

Yes, by all means, choose the gorgeous name of [name]Esme[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] to honour your uncle. From reading your description of his heroic act, he deserves it! All the best!

I think [name]Esme[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is stunning regardless of the meaning, but with the added personal meaning it’s even more fantastic, plus it goes really well with [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Kaia[/name], and even [name]Ivy[/name]. I don’t think of [name]Esme[/name] as a Twilight name since I went to school with an [name]Esme[/name] who would now be in her twenties, and have never seen a Twilight film! Lol.

Regardless of whether you got to meet your uncle or not, he’s obviously made an impact on you so I think it’s lovely to honour him and I’m all for “creative” ways of honouring people (birth flowers, birth stones, names with similar meanings etc).

My mum’s sister died in childhood so I obviously never met her but I’d definitely consider using a form of her name to honour a child and I don’t think it’d be strange at all.

Best of luck
