Is Eva the next Ava?

I love the name [name]Eva[/name] (pronounced EE-va)…I just keep coming back to it.

My only concern is that it will be the next [name]Ava[/name] and our daughter will be known as "[name]Eva[/name] M"at school.

The name is ranked 99 on the popularity lists now…do you think it will ever hit the top 10??

thanks

If it doesn’t hit the top ten it will get very close [name]IMO[/name]. [name]Ava[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Ella[/name]…short vowel names are very popular for girls ATM so I think [name]Eva[/name] will be on it’s way up soon.

I think [name]Eva[/name] will only continue to rise. People will start seeing [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Ella[/name] as being to popular and turn to the obvious alternative [name]Eva[/name]. It is a shame because I love it too.

I think it will, but [name]Ava[/name] is so much better in my opinion. I think the “A” sound in [name]Ava[/name] gives it a stronger and more assertive sound, while [name]Eva[/name] is frillier to me, like [name]Sophia[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name], which I loathe. Also, to me it is distinctly non-English, as it sounds like a Spanish version of [name]Eve[/name] but I could be wrong, and I’m more into names that don’t scream ethnic to me (like [name]Maria[/name], [name]Gabriella[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], and [name]Eva[/name] do) just my opinion though.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eva[/name] … it is not ethnic at all to me. I know a Swedish and a Greek with the name. I love it.
It is classic, not trendy etc. And like I always say, my daughter’s name was #348 ish when she was born and she is one of two in her class of 60. And there are 4 in our neighborhood!! You just never know.
Go for it.
