Is Grace too popular?

[name]Hi[/name] there. I love the name [name]Grace[/name], but I was hesitant because I felt it was too popular. But I don’t really hear it that much anymore as a first name. What do you think? Are there a million Graces? Or should I go for it?

[name]Hi[/name]!

No, as a first name, [name]Grace[/name] is certainly not too popular! I think it is a fantastic choice for a little girl, for sure - it ages well and is sassy and sweet all at the same time. Not to mention its nice meaning…

Go for it!

It might depend on where you live. Have you checked your state’s top 100? When I had my son in 2005 he would have been [name]Grace[/name] but by the time I had my daughter in 2008 I had met so many Graces that I was a little sick of [name]Gracie[/name]. (I think we might live in [name]Grace[/name] pocket.)

Of course I’ve had some remorse that I didn’t use it and it’s in the running for future girls.

I love [name]Grace[/name], and even if it’s popular, it’s so classic and pretty. In my area, it’s not as popular, but it might be different where you live. I’ve met a [name]Gracelyn[/name] and a [name]Gracelynn[/name] though, so I think those might eventually be more common than [name]Grace[/name], which would sound prettier and fresher.

I only know one grace. I feel like its uber popular as a middle name as is [name]Rose[/name] but as a first name it is fresh and classic. I dont think you will regret using [name]Grace[/name].

[name]Hi[/name]! I totally love [name]Grace[/name]! I think it’s gorgeous! Yes, it’s popular (#21 in the US), but to me, it’s like [name]Elizabeth[/name] (#9), in that it’s a timeless classic. To me, there’s a big difference between being popular and trendy.

I only know of three young Graces at the moment.

If you love [name]Grace[/name], I hope you use it!

Good luck!

I love [name]Grace[/name], it a timeless classic. I only know 1 [name]Grace[/name] that is about 6 .

I’m sure I felt like there were so many Graces b/c it was our “name not taken” and I was attuned to it. I have 4 young kids so I’ve been to a lot of playgrounds and had my kids enrolled in many schools and activities and at least a few years back [name]Grace[/name] was in the top 5 of little girls we met. But, I think I’ve only come across 1 or 2 Emilys.

I hear [name]Grace[/name] a lot and it’s popularity definitely would discourage me from using it. However, I agree with a previous poster that you should look up the SSA list for your state because it might not be super popular there. You might consider a name that has the meaning grace or use a less popular variation like [name]Gracia[/name], [name]Gracie[/name], [name]Graciela[/name], [name]Gratia[/name], [name]Engracia[/name]; Then you have the option of using the nn [name]Grace[/name] but she can be distinct from the other Graces out there. Good luck!

I think that [name]Grace[/name] as a first name is fine. It is soo popular as a middle name that it seems a wee bit tired there but as a first it’s lovely. I know a mum recently who named her twins [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] and it was so refreshing to see those names as firsts.

I love the name [name]Grace[/name]…I work in the school system, and only know 2 Graces…so go for it!

I know 2 baby [name]Grace[/name]'s born in the last year… but it only matters to you. If YOU know 2 baby [name]Grace[/name]'s born in the last year, then yes, I’d say it’s too popular for you. But if you haven’t seen many, then it’s perfect for you! (Like around here, I don’t see any Emmas or Emilys, but tons of Isabellas and Avas…)

I have a seven year old named [name]Grace[/name] and I believe her name was #1 when she was born. There is another [name]Grace[/name] in her class but who really cares? I’m [name]Jennifer[/name]…there were a ton of other [name]Jen[/name], Jennys and Jennifers when I grew up and it never bothered me. If you like it, go with it.
