Is Haven too similar to Ava?

We have a daughter named [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (pronounced the same as [name_f]Ava[/name_f]) already, and we have been considering [name_u]Haven[/name_u] for our next daughter. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think they sound too similar?

Too similar for me…at least as first names. Maybe [name_u]Haven[/name_u] could be her middle name.

Yeah - bit too similar, imo.

I like the name [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] in your signature - would you consider that? Matches well with Éva.

Yes I think [name_u]Haven[/name_u] is definitely too similar to [name_f]Eva[/name_f] if it’s pronounced like [name_f]Ava[/name_f].

Esita - [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] is on our list, however, DH said he used to like it more than he does now. :frowning: I love it! Right now DH and I both only like [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] and I’m not sold on that as a first name.

Thank you all for your input on [name_u]Haven[/name_u]. I thought it might be too close but was hoping I was wrong.

[name_m]Way[/name_m] too close.

[name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_u]Haven[/name_u] are too close, yes.

Too similar for me.

A bit too similar

[name_f]Eva[/name_f] is pronounced Eee-va…so thats wrong for a start.

[name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_u]Haven[/name_u] would be lovely sisters. Shame you arent saying it correctly.

[name_f]Eva[/name_f] can actually be pronounced several different ways, including the OP’s “[name_f]Ava[/name_f]”. I have known several people with that pronunciation throughout my life.

And on topic, yes, unfortunately I think they’re just a [name_m]LITTLE[/name_m] too close to be sisters. :frowning:

Thank you @youssarian.

@carysmarie- it spelled with an acute accent over the E (as seen in my signature). It is the Hungarian pronunciation, same as [name_f]Eva[/name_f] Gabor

Like youssarian said, the [name_f]Ava[/name_f] pronunciation is acceptable. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is pronounced like [name_f]Ava[/name_f] in most (all?) of Europe.

[name_m]Way[/name_m] too close for me.

not correct…its always [name_f]Eva[/name_f] in the UK
