OK… final question for hubby and I’s baby name dilemma… IF we choose [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is it really that big of a deal there used to be a famous actress w similar name ([name_u]Vivien[/name_u]) my husbands middle is in fact [name_u]Lee[/name_u] so I would really like to use it but don’t really don’t want people think it’s to honor the actress. [name_f]My[/name_f] other two daughters have “basic/ classic middles” but are derived from my first name [name_u]Anne[/name_u]-[name_u]Marie[/name_u]” I just feel [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] would fit so nicely with sisters.
That a great point! I didn’t even think about the fact that [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] was a LAST name not middle! That actually makes me feel a lot better
I don’t think it’s a big deal because [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is the middle name rather than the surname, so I’d say the connection is unlikely to come up. Plus, I’d think of lot of younger people would have no idea who [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] was anyway.
Vivienne [name_u]Lake[/name_u] would also be lovely!
I had no idea that Viven [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] was an actress- I think that [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] sounds lovely! Plus, can’t be a bad namesake (Unless she was like, inappropriate or was murdered or something). [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] also sound very nice if it ends up bothering you too much.
I don’t think it’s a big deal! I did think of the actress, but I don’t think it’s a bad association, nor do I think everyone will associate the two. Like others have said, it’s a middle not a last name! If you’re still unsure, [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] is so beautiful!!
Vivien [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is honestly a great association for me, and it sounds lovely (+ sadly no one will know about her). I’d go with it! And the spelling is different, too.
It’s definitely not a big deal, and it sounds like it’s the name you truly love
I do think [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] would be lovely too, although that also gives me very strong Old Hollywood vibes ([name_u]Vivien[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] and [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u]) You clearly have very glamorous taste!
But [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] still wins out for its personal connections and the perfect fit with your older girls’ names.
Without looking it up I can tell you I have no idea who the actress is that you’re referring to. I like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]. If anything the only thing that would make hesitate put [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] as the mn is that it rhymes with [name_u]Marie[/name_u] which could make [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u] seem like a bit of the odd man out on the mns… but if that doesn’t seem like an issue stay with [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]!
I don’t think it’s an issue at all! Besides, you are spelling [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] differently than the actress anyway. I like it for your sibset. And the fact that it means so much to you makes it extra special. I say go for it!
I think [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is a gorgeous name and the actress is irrelevant. I don’t think that’s going to be much of an issue. People who know you well will instantly pick up on the [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] being in honour of your husband and will see how it fits with your older daughters middle names that honour you
Sure the odd person might mention the actress but I don’t think it’s a good enough reason not to use such a beautiful combination
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is a beautiful name! I’m obsessed with cinema and honestly I had no idea who [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] was. . So, it is not a big deal at all. Please choose the name you love!
My first thought with the name was the actress but that’s only because that era of cinema was a large part of my childhood. I highly doubt most people would immediately make the connection, especially when the name would be [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] _____.
Besides which, the name has meaning for you and an association with Old School Hollywood isn’t a bad association for people to pick up on even if they would be incorrect?
Vivien [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] was a great actress and a complete screen icon in the [name_u]Golden[/name_u] Age of film, so I don’t think she’d be a bad association at all! Honestly, I did think of the actress, but I’ve also always loved the two names together.
Vivian [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] was my first thought, but I really don’t think the average person would think of her. I don’t even know why I thought of her to be honest as I know nothing about her, the movies she was in, etc. lol I don’t think it’s a big deal at all and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is lovely. That being said, I also really like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u], although the style of the middle name is definitely more modern than her sisters.’ I don’t think that matters, either, though.
