Is it a match?

I fell in love overnight with [name_f]Elise[/name_f]! I love how it is feminine without being frilly, recognizable without being popular/trendy, flexible with potential nicknames/pet names [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], Leesey, [name_f]Elisa[/name_f]. DH even seems on board!
Final criteria- does it go with my sib set?
And
Can I use [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Emalie[/name_f] as a mn? [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Emalie[/name_f]?

Thanks!

Hmm…
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] is a lovely choice, she has a very chic and feels so [name_m]French[/name_m]. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is very pretty and I love the potential [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] nickname for [name_f]Elise[/name_f] it makes her feel more playful. I dislike the [name_f]Emalie[/name_f] part of this potential name. I think it looks like a very strange smoosh like you’ve misspelt the name [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]. It’s very odd. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is a sweet, [name_m]French[/name_m] name. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] has a very odd flow. The flow is totally off-beat. I think [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] would be a cute name the alliteration is kinda appealing. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is sweet. I totally understand why you fell in love with [name_f]Elise[/name_f]!!

[name_f]Emma[/name_f]/[name_f]Emalie[/name_f] is my sister’s name who passed away, so I’d really like to honor her in the name. Her mn was [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] so [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is a nod to that, but I really wanted her first name included too. You say you think [name_f]Elisa[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is ok though?

and the fact that it’s french kind of bothers me, as we really don’t have any french heratige…though dh’s grandmother was marguarite - that’s french, right? Perhaps there’s some [name_m]French[/name_m] in her part of the family…

I think [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is lovely and I think there is [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Emalie[/name_f] is a great combo considering the family significance. I like alliteration though, so I would say that.

What worries me is how similar [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] sound. Especially if you call her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]…[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] sound a little too close for comfort to me.

But if you love it then you should absolutely go for it. There is nothing anyone has mentioned that I see as a real deal breaker.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]?

I like [name_f]Elise[/name_f]! Especially with the nickname Leesey (my cousin is [name_f]Elyse[/name_f] & her nickname as a little girl was Leesey-loo). I think its great with your sibset, but I would either go with a different middle name, or if you really want to use [name_f]Emma[/name_f]/[name_f]Emalie[/name_f] add single-syllable name or something in between to break them up.

Or [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]/[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]?

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] is lovely, and would work very well with [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m].

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is the combination from your list I would use.

I think [name_f]Elise[/name_f] works with [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. I don’t think it sounds too similar to [name_f]Isla[/name_f] like a PP mentioned.

I think that the meaning behind [name_f]Emalie[/name_f] makes it very special. I prefer [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Emalie[/name_f] over [name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. Very pretty

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] is a lovely choice and I like that her name is a nod to your sister

Some great responses, thank you! I may start another thread later - but if anyone sees this in the meantime, are there others you think fit the sweet spot like [name_f]Elise[/name_f]? (feminine, not frilly. Recognizable, not trendy/popular)
Thanks!
