Is it "Djeyan" or "Djeyen"

We are a family from the Netherlands and within a few months we’re expecting a brother for our son Jayvee. We like the name Djeyan but we don’t know how American people speak out this name. The name must be spoken as “DIEJEN” but we’re not sure if we write it as Djeyan. Maybe it must be Djéyen or Djéyan or Djeyen? What do you think?

And what do you think of that name with a big brother named Jayvee?

I think either spelling would be hard to pronounce honestly…at first I thought the D was silent. Lol.

I would spell that as Dyejen or Diejen to get the pronunciation you want.

It’s very difficult to explain, but we want that you speak it like the letters “JN”. Jayvee, our fist son, sounds like “JV”. So, how do you people write the name spoken as “JN” ?

Jayenn, Jayen or [name_u]Jay[/name_u]-En might work.

Drop the “d.” Jeyan or Jeyen would get the pronunciation you want. You could also do Jayen or Jayin. Without the “d” in the front these look more like misspellings of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] though.

Thanks everybody. We leave it like Djeyen, because most Dutch people speak Jeyen not as “JN”…
