Is it just a passing trend?

What are everyone’s thoughts on [name_m]Xander[/name_m]? We like the feel of it but I’m worried it’s more of a trendy name and will be very distinctive to a certain time period. Also we live in Massachusetts and it’s the name of a baseball player here. Does that make it more of a trendy name? Or do you think [name_m]Xander[/name_m] is here to stay?
What kind of person do you think of with the name [name_m]Xander[/name_m]?
Also do you prefer it over [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]?

I really like [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. Its cute. I have never heard of anyone called [name_m]Xander[/name_m] to be honest. I thought it was a nickname to [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. If you love it, then you should use it!!

If you love it, use it! I think it follows the same trend as [name_m]Liam[/name_m], which was the short form of [name_m]William[/name_m] and now has come into its own as a standalone name.

I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Xander[/name_m], although I do like it slightly more than [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. I think it is a trendy name, hard to say how long it will last; but as others have said if you love it, use it! I know a little guy (1 year old) named [name_m]Xander[/name_m] and he’s a sweet little thing. I wouldn’t worry too much about being associated with a certain time period, most names are. Good luck!

My thoughts exactly.

I like [name_m]Xander[/name_m] a lot more than [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]; I have met two Xanders on the past 5 years.

[name_m]Xander[/name_m] is a little trendy, but I think it’s the X that makes it seem trendy, not the name itself.
