I know a lot of older names (such as [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]) have had a resurgence of popularity, but I don’t want to choose any of those.
I really love the name [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] beyond all reason, and I even like the nickname [name_f]Aggie[/name_f]. I like the sound of it, it has a spiritual connection, and I feel that it would be ahead of trend, which matters to me…maybe more than it should.
I know [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but is it TOO old-fashioned, is it [name_f]Bertha[/name_f]-level unpleasant? Can you picture a cute little curly-haired [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] being as sweet as a cute little curly-haired [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], or would you think of [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] as an unpleasant little thing?
I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]! I think it’s sweet, [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] is cute, and kids will think of the cute little girl in despicable me
I like [name_f]Aggie[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is an underloved name! I will say, however, that [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] sounds a little softer. (but I may be biased - I love the name [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]!)
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is a great name. Worlds better than [name_f]Bertha[/name_f] haha. I love the nickname [name_f]Aggie[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]! I grew up with an [name_f]Agnieszka[/name_f] (I believe it’s a common Polish name) who went by [name_f]Aggie[/name_f].
Cute nickname and very playful.
Nay, [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is adorable!
I really like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] - is has cute nn potential - [name_f]Aggie[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Nessie[/name_f] - and I think it’s at once sweet and cute but also mature
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is great!
Thumbs up for [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]! I think it’s a great choice.
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is starting to grow on me too. I dearly have been crushing on [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], and this puts me in mind of it too. I kind of think [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] may be a bit harsh sounding. I do like Ness or [name_f]Nessa[/name_f].
To me, [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is no different from [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], etc. I’d say it’s perfectly usable. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nn [name_f]Aggie[/name_f]!
I know both an [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] and an [name_f]Agnieszka[/name_f] who are relatively young, so I don’t think of it as old-fashioned at all! It strikes me more as an ahead-of-the-curve vintage revival just waiting to be picked up. I think it’s really sweet, and definitely several levels above [name_f]Bertha[/name_f].
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is a cute name!
I laughed so hard when my daughter in 3 year old nursery had a little girl named [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] in her class. Then it just became part of life. People would always chuckle when my daughter referenced this friend - if they didn’t know about her name already. While it was an initial shocker, it just went.
If you like it a lot, use it, and people will just associate [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] with your daughter, and not an old lady (with a sister [name_f]Bertha[/name_f] lol!)
I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], and with the other trending ‘old-fashioned’ names, I think she’d fit right in. The Despicable me/ Minion movies have also brought a positive light to [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] and makes it more familiar.
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is cute! No where near [name_f]Bertha[/name_f], don’t worry! And of course, there’s the little girl in despicable me, who loves unicorns. Nothing old ladyish about her.
