Is it usable?! Rhyming names

My wife and I were discussing names last night, and she told me that she would love to name a child [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. The problem is, my wife’s name is [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]. I also adore [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], but I’m not sure i like the rhyming aspect. I’m afraid it could cause some confusion or that it would sound really corny when introducing ourselves to strangers. So, what do you guys think? is the name usable? If not could you suggest other names. For reference, our daughter is named [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. Thanks everyone.

Other names on our shortlist:
[name_f]Gracie[/name_f],[name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Emily[/name_f],

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]/[name_f]Clio[/name_f]?

Personally I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] rhyming isn’t worth giving up. I would keep it on the list. From the other names on your shortlist I like sibset [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] the best.

I’d move it to the mn position as I agree that it could be confusing, etc. I do really like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] though-- maybe use this as the name, but call her [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]? Another name that is pretty similar is [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] it works well with [name_f]Ava[/name_f] ([name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] are nice combos).

There are plenty of parents (mainly fathers) who give their children their exact same name, so I don’t think a rhyming name has to be totally out of the question for a mother and daughter. There might be some occasional confusion, sure, but assuming your wife mainly goes by Mom (or something similar) in front of the kids, I don’t think it would be that much trouble. As for the introductions… It really just depends on how you feel about it. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think you would be embarrassed about it? Some people probably will find it corny, but others will probably think it’s cute, and most probably won’t even care.

If your wife really loves it but you have reservations, though, you could always use [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] as a middle name. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] or [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] would be nice.

I agree with everything [name_f]Meg[/name_f] said. It can be confusing, but I don’t think it’s deal breaker. Now it just depends on how you feel about it.

I know a number of parents whose kids’ names somehow repeat a significant letter or sound from their own names. If you love [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], it wouldn’t be a deal breaker to me; I also think it would become less of an issue the older your daughter gets, as mostly during baby age moms tend to introduce themselves along with their baby’s name “[name_f]Zoe[/name_f], mom to [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]” but def less so the older the child gets.
