Considering the name [name_m]Dhani[/name_m], for a boy— probably a middle. I have kind of fallen in love with it, but I just don’t know if it’s usable, because as far as I can tell [name_u]George[/name_u] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] made it up. (He named his son [name_m]Dhani[/name_m] after ‘dha’ and ‘ni,’ notes on the [name_f]Indian[/name_f] musical scale.). I’m not really a fan of made-up names, but I really love [name_m]Dhani[/name_m]… it just seems slightly ridiculous. Like naming your child Grendor or Phinarix— just terribly made-up. It this name usable?
(If it helps, combos might be [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Dhani[/name_m], [name_u]Archer[/name_u] [name_m]Dhani[/name_m], or [name_m]Salvador[/name_m] [name_m]Dhani[/name_m])
I’m not a fan of it, but I don’t think it looks ridiculous, in the sense that it’s too grand or made up. It honestly just looks like a misspelling of [name_u]Danny[/name_u] to me, though they may be pronounced differently.
In your combos it would only be a middle though, so it doesn’t really matter! I think it works fine as a middle name.
If it’s in the middle I might assume it was a reference to the Beatles. Maybe as a first I wouldn’t though. Is it said the same as [name_m]Donnie[/name_m]? I do like the spelling and the look of it. Seems perfectly usable.
I don’t think it seems ridiculous or terribly made up at all. However, I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable using it unless I was [name_f]Indian[/name_f] – as it does seem more [name_f]Indian[/name_f] than anything else.
To me it looks like a creative spelling of [name_u]Danny[/name_u]. Out of curiosity, I looked up [name_m]Dhani[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], and it seems he does pronounce it like [name_u]Danny[/name_u].
I think it would be perfectly fine as a middle name.
Definitely useable. ‘[name_f]Danie[/name_f]’ (pronounced dah-nee) is quite a common male [name_u]South[/name_u] African name and I hear it a fair bit where we are in Australia. I’m personally used to hearing it a lot, so sounds fine to me.
It’s not for me personally, but it’s definitely usable. Maybe it’s best as a middle name.
I do agree with @Johannaa that [name_m]Salvador[/name_m] [name_m]Dhani[/name_m] sounds a lot like [name_m]Salvador[/name_m] Dalí
