Is it wrong to give your second child a name that means first child?

Or even give your second daughter/son a name that means first daughter/son?

Personally, I think it’s fine. Meanings of names are interesting and can be exciting, but they don’t make or break a name for me. If you love it, I’d say you can use it

In general it’s fine. So it’s really just about how much it bothers you. If you want to use it though, I don’t think there’s anything wrong.

It wouldn’t bother me

I don’t think it’s a problem at all.

I don’t think it’s an issue. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] means “twin” but none of the Thomases I know are twins. [name_m]Luke[/name_m] means “from Lucania” but none of the [name_m]Lukes[/name_m] I know are from Lucania. I don’t think anyone expects the meaning of their name to describe them literally.

Yes, it’s wrong. The Name Police will burst through the hospital windows and arrest you as soon as you put your pen to the birth certificate.

I’m kidding, it’s absolutely fine, as long it doesn’t bother you.

I don’t think it’s an issue.

[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] means ‘son of [name_m]Jack[/name_m]’ but a lot of [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]'s aren’t related to a [name_m]Jack[/name_m]… meanings like that don’t hold much importance these days.

I’d say its fine. I personally don’t look to far into the meanings of names

It wouldn’t bother me. Especially because there are names with unfortunate meanings like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Dolores[/name_f], [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] or [name_f]Claudia[/name_f]. I don’t think that the meaning of a name influences a child at all. I would use such a name for my child, it isn’t a problem for me
